A. Get Access
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever when working near the flaps/slats.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the slat/flap control lever to tell persons not to operate the slats/flaps.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in the required position.
   (4) Remove all the following panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-12-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-001) from the belly fairing support structure.

B. Cleaning Procedure
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Remove the old temporary protection compound from the area to be treated with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC, and clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . Make sure that the area is dry before you continue.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

   (1) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) or equivalent to the fuselage external skin and the belly fairing support structure, contained in the belly fairing, between FR30 and FR53.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install all the following panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-12-400-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002) on the belly fairing support structure.
   (3) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
   (6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
