A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the inspection area.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer. Refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Nondestructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer. Refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Nondestructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
Subtask 53-41-00-250-052-A
A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection (LFEC) of the external surface of the upper skin. Do this inspection at the longitudinal lap joint in the crack stopper areas, for damage and discontinuities. Refer to NTM 534105.
(a) On the left side:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
Subtask 53-41-00-910-051-A (1) Do a special detailed inspection (LFEC) of the external surface of the upper skin. Do this inspection at the longitudinal lap joint in the crack stopper areas, for damage and discontinuities. Refer to NTM 534105.
(a) On the left side:
- For A318, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR59 and FR70.
- For A319, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR57 and FR70.
- For A320, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR53 and FR70.
- For A321, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR48 and FR70.
- For A318, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR64 and FR70 and at stringer 41 between FR57 and FR70.
- For A319, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR64 and FR70 and at stringer 41 between FR55 and FR70.
- For A320, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR58 and FR70 and at stringer 41 between FR51 and FR70.
- For A321, do this inspection at stringer 32 between FR58 and FR70 and at stringer 41 between FR47.4 and FR70.
(a) Corrosion damage:

B. Sealant or Paint Application
(1) If the NTM procedure asked to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant ( SRM 512400) or paint ( SRM 512300) on the inspection area.

C. Check and Application of the TPS Layer
(1) If the TPS was removed at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(2) If the TPS was not removed at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
5. Close-up(1) If the TPS was removed at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(2) If the TPS was not removed at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
