A. Get Access
(1) Put on a safety harness:
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below the aft cargo-compartment door.
(4) Remove the applicable sidewall panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003).
Subtask 53-41-00-110-175-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put on a safety harness:
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(a) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area. (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below the aft cargo-compartment door.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU OPEN AND CLOSE THE CARGO DOORS, MAKE SURE THAT THE ACCESS PLATFORM IS AT THE CORRECT HEIGHT. IF IT IS TOO HIGH, IT WILL PREVENT FREE MOVEMENT OF THE DOORS.
(3) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001). (4) Remove the applicable sidewall panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003).
B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) Remove the fasteners to inspect the holes ( SRM 514200).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) Remove the fasteners to inspect the holes ( SRM 514200).
Subtask 53-41-00-220-100-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection
(1) Do the special detailed inspection (ROTO) of the rivet hole at the frame coupling run-out C47.3, below the escape chute compartment of the emergency exit between stringer 29 and stringer 30, LH/RH for damage or discontinuities.Refer to NTM 534186.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for damage types, classification and corrective action.
Subtask 53-41-00-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do the special detailed inspection (ROTO) of the rivet hole at the frame coupling run-out C47.3, below the escape chute compartment of the emergency exit between stringer 29 and stringer 30, LH/RH for damage or discontinuities.Refer to NTM 534186.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for damage types, classification and corrective action.
B. Installation of the Fasteners
(1) Refer to the installation drawing in the SRM identification section for the new fastener references.
(2) Install the fasteners of the inspected holes ( SRM 514200).
Subtask 53-41-00-916-111-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Refer to the installation drawing in the SRM identification section for the new fastener references.
(2) Install the fasteners of the inspected holes ( SRM 514200).
C. Check and Application of the TPS Layer
(1) If the TPS was removed at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area", apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(2) If the TPS was not removed at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area", do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
5. Close-up(1) If the TPS was removed at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area", apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(2) If the TPS was not removed at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area", do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: If, after the check of the condition and integrity, the TPS layer is in the correct condition, Airbus recommends that you apply a new layer as a spray on the existing layer.This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection.
Subtask 53-41-00-410-210-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable sidewall panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-003).
(3) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable sidewall panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-003).
(3) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
