3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-41-00-010-124-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position adjacent to FR47.5 LH and RH.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (3) If necessary, clean the surfaces of the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (4) Make sure that the inspection areas are clean and dry before you continue.
   (5) Do a visual inspection of the surfaces of the inspection areas. Look for damage and defects in the shape of the surfaces.
   (6) If you find damage:
     (a) Refer to the ASRM SRM 511100 for the classification of the damage.
     (b) If you find corrosion damage:
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 512200 for the general corrosion data
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 517400 for the repair of the corroded areas.
     (c) If you find other types of damage:
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 517300 for the repair of the minor damage.
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-41-00-220-060-A
A. Special Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the external surface of the splice plate at the circumferential skin splice. Do this inspection at FR47.5 from stringer 16 LH and RH to the crown center line, NTM 534145.
   (2) Record the damage that you find during the inspection procedure.
   (3) If you find damage:
     (a) Refer to the ASRM SRM 511100 the classification of the damage.
     (b) If you find corrosion damage:
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 512200 for the general corrosion data
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 517400 for the repair of the corroded areas.
     (c) If you find other types of damage:
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 517300 for the repair of the minor damage.
     (d) If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 530012 for the correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
