DETAILED INSPECTION OF CABIN FLOOR STRUCTURE, BELOW AND 0.5M AROUND GALLEYS AND TOILETS

NOTE: The effectivity of this task is ALL. To know if this task is applicable to your aircraft, refer to the MPD task applicability and the weight variant data given in the SRM introduction.
NOTE: Detailed inspection of the cabin floor structure, below and 0.5m around galleys and toilets from FR47/54(A318), FR47/51(A319), FR47(A320/321) to FR70. The location of galleys and toilets are different with the aircraft type. This inspection procedure is not applicable for the areas between FR66 and FR68 and the lateral shear plates between FR68 and FR70.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-41-00-010-112-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Remove the lavatories and the galleys installed in the inspection area. To know the lavatories and the galleys installed in the inspection area, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-00-00) and (Ref. AMM D/O 25-43-00-00).
   (2) Remove the applicable floor panels from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-000-801).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Remove the TPS layer, if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-41-00-210-091-A
A. Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the cabin floor structure, below and 0.5 m (1.64 ft.) around the galleys and the toilets for corrosion.
NOTE: This inspection procedure is not applicable for the door entrance area between FR66 and FR68.
   (2) If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 53430000 for the correct repair procedure.

B. Application of Temporary Protection System
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Apply masking paper or masking tape Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fittings adjacent to the area.
   (2) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection. Make sure that the TPS layer is in the correct condition after the check. If the TPS is in the correct condition, apply a new layer as a spray on the remaining layer.
   (3) Replace the damaged TPS layer with a new layer of TPS on the inspection area, as recommended in the MPD (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) If you used solvents, high-pressure water, steam and/or cleaning agents to clean the TPS layer:
     (a) Apply a full new layer of TPS on the inspection area, as recommended in the MPD (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
     (b) If there is no TPS layer, apply a new layer of TPS on the inspection area, as recommended in the MPD (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (5) Remove the masking paper or the masking tape.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable floor panels removed from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-400-801).
   (3) Install the lavatories and the galleys removed from the inspection area, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 25-43-00-00) and (Ref. AMM D/O 25-33-00-00).
