A. Get Access

WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:

THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.

MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

(1) Remove the vertical stabilizer fairings 323AL and 323AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-11-000-001).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Make sure that the inspection areas are dry before you continue.

4. Procedure
Subtask 53-41-00-210-074-A

A. Detailed Inspection
(1) Do a detailed inspection of the fuselage skin in the circumferential splice at FR70, including cutout corners for fin attachments external surface. Do this from STGR10 LH/RH to crown center line. Look for:

Cracks.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 53411101 for the correct repair procedure.

5. Close-up
Subtask 53-41-00-410-092-A

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the vertical stabilizer fairings 323AL and 323AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-11-400-001).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
