A. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the cargo door.
(3) Remove the floor panels from the aft cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-000-001).
(4) Remove the insulation blankets from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
(5) Remove the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-001).
Subtask 53-41-00-010-090-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the cargo door.
(3) Remove the floor panels from the aft cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-000-001).
(4) Remove the insulation blankets from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
(5) Remove the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-001).
A. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) If it is installed, remove the additional center tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
(3) Remove the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-001).
(4) Remove the aft cargo-compartment floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-000-001).
(5) Remove the maintenance floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-803).
(6) If it is installed, remove the insulation blankets from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
Subtask 53-41-00-110-153-A (1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) If it is installed, remove the additional center tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
(3) Remove the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-001).
(4) Remove the aft cargo-compartment floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-000-001).
(5) Remove the maintenance floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-803).
(6) If it is installed, remove the insulation blankets from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
B. Preparation of the inspection area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Remove the TPS layer, if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Remove the TPS layer, if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
Subtask 53-41-00-210-071-A
A. Inspection.
(1) Examine the levelling compound/sealant at the bottom corners of the aft cargo-compartment door-cutout. Make sure that any fluid in the area will flow out of the cutout.
Subtask 53-41-00-916-055-A (1) Examine the levelling compound/sealant at the bottom corners of the aft cargo-compartment door-cutout. Make sure that any fluid in the area will flow out of the cutout.
NOTE: The levelling compound/sealant is to be removed only if it is found cracked or in a bad condition, or if the edge of the sealant is coming away from the fuselage skin.
If the levelling compound/sealant is in a bad condition, carefully remove with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Examine these areas for corrosion and cracks: If the levelling compound/sealant is in a bad condition, carefully remove with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
- the aft face of the pressure bulkhead,
- the fuselage internal structure between FR46 and FR65, from stringer 38 LH/RH to the bottom center line.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 53410000 for the correct repair procedure.
B. Application of Temporary Protection System
(2) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) If you used solvents, high-pressure water, steam and/or cleaning agents to clean the TPS layer:
(a) Apply a full new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(b) If there is no TPS layer, apply a new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(5) Remove the masking paper or the masking tape.
5. Close-upWARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS.
MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
(1) Apply masking paper or masking tape Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fittings adjacent to the area. - ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
- ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
- IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
(2) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection. Make sure that the TPS layer is in the correct condition after the check. If the TPS is in the correct condition, apply a new layer as a spray on the remaining layer.
(3) Replace the damaged TPS layer with a new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001). (4) If you used solvents, high-pressure water, steam and/or cleaning agents to clean the TPS layer:
(a) Apply a full new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(b) If there is no TPS layer, apply a new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(5) Remove the masking paper or the masking tape.
Subtask 53-41-00-914-054-A
A. If the levelling compound/sealant is removed apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to the bottom corners of the aft cargo-compartment door-cutout.
Subtask 53-41-00-410-091-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the aft cargo-compartment floor-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-400-001).
(4) Install the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 53-41-00-410-091-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the aft cargo-compartment floor-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-400-001).
(4) Install the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If it is removed, install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the maintenance floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-803).
(4) Install the aft cargo-compartment floor-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-400-001).
(5) Install the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-001).
(6) If it is removed,install the additional center tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001).
(7) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If it is removed, install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the maintenance floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-803).
(4) Install the aft cargo-compartment floor-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-400-001).
(5) Install the fixed partition at FR47 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-400-001).
(6) If it is removed,install the additional center tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001).
(7) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
