4. Procedure
Subtask 53-31-00-440-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Repair of the Filler Panels of the Emergency-Exit Hatch Frame
   (1) Examine the hatch frame for the missing filler panels (1).
   (2) Remove the rivets (3) from these filler panels (1) SRM 514200.
   (3) Clean the remaining resin from the hatch frame with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (4) Temporarily install the filler panels (1) on the hatch frame.
   (5) Measure dimension A between the fuselage skin and the filler panels (1).
   (6) Make sure that dimension A is 15 -0.2 mm or +0.2 mm (0.59 -0.01 in. or +0.01 in.).
   (7) If dimension A is less than the limits, use the shim strip LN9073-3-1364T3 to get a shim (2) at the correct dimension.
   (8) Make marks on the filler panels (1) for the rivet holes.
   (9) Remove the temporarily installed filler panels (1) from the hatch frame.
   (10) Drill the necessary holes for the rivets (3) in the filler panels (1) and the shims (2) SRM 514411.
   (11) Apply the Epoxy Adhesive-Metal to metal - Legacy (Material No.05EJL9) on the mating surfaces of the filler panels (1) and the shims (2).
   (12) Install the filler panels (1) and the shims (2) with the rivets (3) SRM 514200.
   (13) Make sure that:
     (a) Clearance B, between the filler panels (1), is 2 -0.5 mm or +0.5 mm (0.08 -0.02 in. or +0.02 in.).
     (b) Clearance C, between the filler panels (1), is 1.5 mm (0.06 in.).
     (c) Clearance D, between the filler panels (1), is 2 mm (0.08 in.).
     (d) Clearance E, between the filler panels (1), is 2 -0.5 mm or +0.5 mm (0.08 -0.02 in. or +0.02 in.).
     (e) Clearance F, between the filler panels (1), is 1.7 -0.5 mm or +0.5 mm (0.07 -0.02 in. or +0.02 in.).
   (14) Make sure that there is no offset between the joints of the filler panels (1). For this, fill the space between the filler panels (1) with the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) .
   (15) If offset G is between the joints of the filler panels (1), do as follows:
     (a) Measure offset G.
     (b) If offset G is less than or equal to 0.85 mm (0.03 in.):
1 Fill the space between the filler panels (1) with the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) .
2 Apply the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) on dimension H to make a smooth surface between the filler panels (1).
3 Make sure that dimension H is a minimum of 20 times larger than offset G.
     (c) If offset G is more than 0.85 mm (0.03 in.):
1 Make a chamfer at the end of the filler panels (1), on dimension J1, with offset G1.
2 Make sure that offsets G1 and G2 are less than or equal to 0.85 mm (0.03 in.).
3 Make sure that dimension J1 is a minimum of 10 times larger than offset G1.
4 Fill the space between the filler panels (1) with the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) .
5 Apply the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) on dimension J2 to make a smooth surface between the filler panels (1).
6 Make sure that dimension J2 is a minimum of 10 times larger than offset G2.
7 Make sure that dimension J is a minimum of 20 times larger than offset G2.
5. Close-up
