SPECIAL DETAILED INSPECTION (HFEC AND ROTO) OF STRINGER COUPLING FROM STRINGER 10 LH/RH TO CROWN CENTER LINE, FWD AND AFT FR 47, INTERNAL SURFACE.

NOTE: This task is an alternative to MPD task 533191-01.

A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
(1) Remove the applicable overhead stowage compartment(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-000-001).
(2) Remove the applicable ceiling panel(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable upper sidewall panel(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-43-000-001).
(4) Remove the insulation blanket(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).

C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) For the detailed inspection (ROTO) of the stringers, at the run out areas of the stringer coupling:
(a) Remove the fasteners to inspect the holes ( SRM 514200).

4. Procedure
Subtask 53-31-00-220-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection (HFEC) of the stringer coupling surface around the rivets, from stringer 10, left and right sides, to the crown center line, for damage or discontinuities. Refer to NTM 533191.

NOTE: The stringer coupling lengths are different. Thus, the number of the stringer coupling rivets can increase or decrease.

(2) Examine the stringer coupling surface around all the rivet heads:
(a) For A318, at FR47/54.
(b) For A319, at FR47/51.
(c) For A320 and A321, at FR47.
(3) Do a special detailed inspection (ROTO) of the stringer at the run out areas of the stringer coupling for damage or discontinuities. Refer to NTM 533191.
(a) For A318, at FR47/54.
(b) For A319, at FR47/51.
(c) For A320 and A321, at FR47.
(4) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

B. Installation of the Fasteners
(1) Refer to the installation drawing in the SRM identification section for the new fastener references.
(2) Install the fasteners of the inspected holes ( SRM 514200).

C. Sealant or Paint Application
(1) If the NTM procedure told to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant ( SRM 512400) or paint ( SRM 512300) on the inspection area.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work areas are clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2) Install the removed insulation blanket(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the removed upper sidewall panel(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-43-400-001).
(4) Install the removed ceiling panel(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-400-001).
(5) Install the removed overhead stowage compartment(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-400-001).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(2) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
