A. Install the Ground Support Equipment
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 8M (26 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the inspection area.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Areas
   (1) Make sure that the surfaces of the inspection areas are clean.
   (2) If necessary, clean the inspection areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (3) Make sure that the inspection areas are dry before you continue.
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-31-00-210-087-A
A. General Visual Inspection
   (1) Do a general visual inspection of the external surface of the fuselage from STGR23, LH/RH to the crown cenerline.
     (a) For A320, do this between FR35 and FR47.
  • Do not examine the areas below the belly fairing.
  • Look for scratches, dents, cracks, corrosion and damage to the surface protection.
     (b) For A321, do this between FR35.8 and FR47.
  • Do not examine the areas below the belly fairing.
  • Look for scratches, dents, cracks, corrosion and damage to the surface protection.
     (c) For A319, do this between FR35 and FR47/51.
  • Do not examine the areas below the belly fairing.
  • Look for scratches, dents, cracks, corrosion and damage to the surface protection.
     (d) For A318, do this between FR35 and FR47/54.
  • Do not examine the areas below the belly fairing.
  • Look for scratches, dents, cracks, corrosion and damage to the surface protection.
   (2) If you find scratches, dents and/or cracks:
     (a) Refer to the ASRM SRM 511100 for the classification of the damage.
     (b) Refer to the ASRM SRM 533111 for the allowable damage limits for this structure.
     (c) Repair the scratches which are in the limits (Ref. AMM TASK 51-73-11-300-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 51-73-11-300-004), as necessary.
     (d) Repair the dents which are in the limits (Ref. AMM TASK 51-73-11-300-003).
     (e) For damage that is more than the limits for minor damage, refer to the ASRM SRM 53311102 for the correct repair data.
   (3) If you find corrosion:
     (a) Refer to the ASRM SRM 512200 for the general corrosion data.
     (b) Repair the corroded areas (Ref. AMM TASK 51-74-11-300-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 51-74-11-300-002), as necessary.
   (4) If you find damage to the surface protection:
     (a) Refer to the ASRM SRM 512311 for the general data about the paint coating of the aircraft.
     (b) Repair the damage to the paint system (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-003), as necessary.

A. Remove the Ground Support Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
