A. Get Access
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the slat/flap control lever when working near the slats/flaps.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the slat/flap control lever to tell persons not to operate the slats.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (4) Remove the wing-to-fuselage fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-000-001):
  • 191BT from the left side,
  • 192BT from the right side.
   (5) Remove the quick-release access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002):
  • 191EB from the left side,
  • 192EB from the right side.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Areas
   (1) Make sure that the inspection areas are sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (2) If necessary, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that the inspection areas are dry before you continue.
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-31-00-210-073-A
A. Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the external surface of the fuselage skin between stringer 25 and stringer 30 LH/RH.
     (a) For A320, A319 and A318, do this between FR35 and FR36. Look for cracks.
     (b) For A321, do this between FR35.8 and FR36. Look for cracks.
NOTE: If required, for information on allowable damage and repair procedures for cracks, refer to the ASRM's:

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the quick-release access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002):
  • 191EB on the left side,
  • 192EB on the right side.
   (3) Install the wing-to-fuselage fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001):
  • 191BT on the left side,
  • 192BT on the right side.
   (4) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever.
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
   (7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
