Subtask 53-31-00-010-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Open the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the cargo door.
   (3) Remove the forward cargo-compartment partitions 131NW 131PW 132PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-001).
   (4) Remove the insulation blankets from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
   (5) Remove the recirculation filter (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-41-000-001).
   (6) If necessary, remove the lower part of the mixer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-43-000-002).
Subtask 53-31-00-010-062-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Open the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the cargo door.
   (3) Remove the potable water tank 3000 MM (Ref. AMM TASK 38-11-41-000-001).
   (4) Remove the forward cargo-compartment partition 131PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-001).
   (5) Remove the insulation blankets from the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
   (6) Remove the recirculation filter (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-41-000-001).
   (7) If necessary, remove the lower part of the mixer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-43-000-002).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Remove the TPS layer, if it does not let you to do a satisfactory inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-31-00-210-061-A
A. Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do a datailed inspection of the forward face of the pressure bulkhead.
     (a) For A320, A319 and A318, do this at FR35. Look for:
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion.
     (b) For A321, do this at FR35.8. Look for:
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion.
   (2) Do a datailed inspection of the upper surface of the pressure bulkhead.
     (a) For A320, A319 and A318, do this between FR35 and FR36. Look for:
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion.
     (b) For A321, do this between FR35.8 and FR36. Look for:
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion.
   (3) Do a datailed inspection of the connections to the center wing box.
     (a) For A320, A319 and A318, do this at FR35 and FR36. Look for:
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion.
     (b) For A321, do this at FR35.8 and FR36. Look for:
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 53311600 for the correct repair procedure.

B. Application of Temporary Protection System
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Apply masking paper or tape adhesives Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fittings adjacent to the area.
   (2) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection. Make sure that the TPS layer is in the correct condition after the check. If the TPS is in the correct condition, apply a new layer as a spray on the remaining layer.
   (3) Replace the damaged TPS layer with a new layer of TPS on the inspection area, as recommended in the MPD (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) If you used solvents, high pressure water, steam and/or cleaning agents to clean the TPS layer:
     (a) Apply a full new layer of TPS on the inspection area, as recommended in the MPD (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
     (b) If there is no TPS layer, apply a new layer of TPS on the inspection area, as recommended in the MPD (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (5) Remove the masking paper or the masking tape.
5. Close-up
Subtask 53-31-00-410-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
   (2) Install the recirculation filter (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-41-400-001).
   (3) If removed, install the lower part of the mixer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-43-400-003).
   (4) Install the partitions 131NW 131PW 132PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001).
   (5) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
   (7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 53-31-00-410-067-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
   (2) Install the recirculation filter (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-41-400-001).
   (3) If removed, install the lower part of the mixer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-43-400-003).
   (4) Install the partition 131PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001).
   (5) Install the potable water tank 3000 MM (Ref. AMM TASK 38-11-41-400-002).
   (6) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (7) Remove the access platform(s).
   (8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
