3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear and the MLG doors.

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Depressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Carefully clean the inboard face of the MLG bay side-panels with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

   (1) Examine the inboard face of the MLG bay side-panels, slanted frames and side boxes between FR42 and FR46 for:
  • cracks,
  • corrosion,
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 53312900 for the correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
   (2) Close the MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
