A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 230.
(2) Open forward emergency-exit door 833 or 843 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 230.
(2) Open forward emergency-exit door 833 or 843 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).

A. Removal of the Forward Emergency-Exit-Door Scuff-Plates
(2) Remove the nuts (1).
(3) Remove the screws (7) and (8) and the washers (6).
(4) Remove the screws (2) and (11) and the washers (4).
(5) Blow air on the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) with the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F).
(6) Make sure that the temperature of the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) is not more than 50 deg.C (122 deg.F).
(7) Carefully put the WEDGE - NON METALLIC between the fuselage and the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9).
(8) Remove the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) from the fuselage structure.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE FUSELAGE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCUFF PLATES.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(1) Remove the sealant from around the edges of the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC. (2) Remove the nuts (1).
(3) Remove the screws (7) and (8) and the washers (6).
(4) Remove the screws (2) and (11) and the washers (4).
(5) Blow air on the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) with the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F).
(6) Make sure that the temperature of the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) is not more than 50 deg.C (122 deg.F).
(7) Carefully put the WEDGE - NON METALLIC between the fuselage and the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9).
(8) Remove the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates (3), (5) and (9) from the fuselage structure.
NOTE: All types of damage are permitted for the forward emergency-exit-door scuff-plates if the structure below them is in the permitted damage limits.
