3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-21-00-010-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) If installed, remove the galleys and the lavatories between FR 24 and FR 35. To do this, refer to the paragraph Component Location in the applicable ATA 25 Description/Operation:
In this paragraph, you will find the cross-references of the removal/installation tasks.
   (2) Remove the cabin floor panels between FR 24 and FR 35 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-12-000-001).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If there is a Temporary Protection System (TPS) layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure

A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the cabin floor structure between FR 24 and FR 35, below and 0.5 m (1.64 ft.) around the galleys and the lavatories.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
- If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
- If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and corrective action.

B. Application of the Temporary Protection System
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) TYPE 3 ON THE MOVABLE COMPONENTS. USE ONLY TPS TYPE 1 GRADE 2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE MECHANISMS WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
   (1) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection. If, after the check, you think that the TPS layer is in the correct condition, you can apply a new layer as a spray on the existing layer.
   (2) Apply PAPER - MASKING or Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fittings adjacent to the area.
   (3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) If, before the inspection, there was:
  • Removal of the TPS layer or
  • Cleaning of the inspection area with high-pressure water, steam, solvents and/or cleaning agents
Apply a full new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (5) Remove the PAPER - MASKING or the Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) .
5. Close-up
Subtask 53-21-00-410-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Install the cabin floor panels between FR 24 and FR 35 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-12-400-001).
   (2) If you removed the galleys and the lavatories between FR 24 and FR 35, install them. To do this, refer to the paragraph Component Location in the applicable ATA 25 Description/Operation:
In this paragraph, you will find the cross-references of the removal/installation tasks.
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
