3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-21-00-010-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 231 (232).
   (2) Open the forward emergency exit door 833 ( 843) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
   (3) Remove the scuff-plate below the forward emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 53-25-41-000-001) (left and right sides).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that there is no Temporary Protection System (TPS) layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-21-00-220-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the internal structure below the scuff plate.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
- If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 51220001 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
- If you find other damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 51110001 for damage classification and corrective action.
5. Close-up
Subtask 53-21-00-410-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the scuff-plates under the forward emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 53-25-41-400-001) (left and right sides).
   (3) Close the forward emergency exit 833 ( 843) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
