3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-19-41-860-052-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 811.
   (2) Make sure that the avionics-compartment access door 811 is open.
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 824.
   (4) Make sure that the avionics-compartment access door 824 is open.
   (5) On the panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the AVIONICS/COMPT LT pushbutton switch 23LS is pushed.
   (6) In the avionics compartment, make sure that the applicable floor panel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-13-000-001).
   (7) Make sure that the insulation blanket is removed.
4. Procedure

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the Drain Valve
   (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) on the contact surfaces of the retaining valve (2) and of the structure.
   (2) Put the retaining valve (2) in position.
   (3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) around the retaining valve (2).
   (4) Put the two nuts (1) in position.
   (5) Install the two bolts (3). Tighten the two nuts (1).
   (6) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) between the valve (4) and the structure.
   (7) Install the valve (4).

A. Installation of Components
   (1) Install the insulation blanket on the drain valve.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install the floor panel (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-13-400-001).

B. Close Access
   (1) On the panel 50VU:
  • push then release the AVIONICS COMPT/LT pushbutton switch.
   (2) Close the avionics-compartment access doors 824 and 811.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

C. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
