   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the lower fuselage shell.

   (1) Do the operational check of the piston-type drain valves in the lower fuselage shell from outside:
     (a) Examine the piston-type drain valves to find if they open correctly. To do this:
  • Do a visual check of the piston-type drain valves.
  • Push a PROBE DIA LESS THAN 5 MM(0.197IN)NON METALLIC FLEXIBLE pin against the inner part of the valve (the part that moves).
     (b) Examine the drain valves and the adjacent area for signs of damage.
     (c) If the drain valves do not open correctly or if you find damage on the drain valves, replace it:
       1 Remove the related drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 53-19-41-000-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-29-41-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-49-21-000-001).
       2 Install the drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 53-19-41-400-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-29-41-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-49-21-400-001).
     (d) If you find dirt around the drain valves, clean the related areas with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
