Subtask 53-16-11-860-053-A

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below the avionics compartment door 811.
(2) Make sure that the avionics compartment door 811 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the internal structure of the hole where you will install the nose jacking fitting with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) to the removed component.

C. Installation of Cotter Pin on Screw of Nose Jacking Fitting

Installation of Coton Pin on the Screw of the Nose Jacking Fitting

(1) Install a new screw (2) and a new nut (5) as shown on the figure.
(2) Tighten the nut (5).
(3) Mark the screw (2) to show the location of the cotter pin (1).
(4) Remove the nut (5) and the screw (2).
(5) Drill a 2 -0.1 mm or +0.1 mm (0.0787 -0.0039 in. or +0.0039 in.) dia. hole on the screw (2) at mark location to install the cotter pin (1).

A. Installation of the Nose Jacking Fitting

Nose Jacking Fitting

(1) Install the spring (3), the plug (4) and the housing (6).
(2) Install a new screw (2) which you have already drilled and a new nut (5).
(3) Tighten the nut (5).
(4) Install a new cotter pin (1).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the avionics compartment door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
