3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-11-00-010-127-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (2) Open the passenger/crew doors 831 and ( 841) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Remove the necessary door-frame lining panels at FR 16 and FR 20 to get access to the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-005) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-002).
   (4) Remove the forward galleys and lavatories at FR 16 and FR 20, if installed.
To do this, refer to the para. Component Location in the applicable ATA 25 Description/Operation: for the galleys (Ref. AMM D/O 25-31-00-00), for the lavatories (Ref. AMM D/O 25-41-00-00). In this paragraph, you will find the cross-references of the removal/installation tasks.
   (5) Remove the necessary insulation blankets at FR 16 and FR 20 to get access to the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Nondestructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
   (5) Remove the fasteners to examine the holes ( SRM 514200).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-250-066-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection (ROTO) of the holes of the stop fittings of the forward passenger/crew door cutout. This inspection is applicable at FR 16 and FR 20 at positions 1 and 7. Do this inspection for damage or discontinuities on the left and right sides. Refer to NTM 531103.
   (2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

B. Installation of the Components
   (1) Refer to the installation drawing in the SRM identification section for the new fastener references.
   (2) Install the fasteners of the examined holes ( SRM 514200).

C. Check and Application of the TPS Layer
   (1) If the TPS was removed at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area", apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (2) If the TPS was not removed at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area", do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: If the TPS layer is not in the correct condition, Airbus recommends that you apply a new layer (as a spray) on the existing layer. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the insulation blankets at FR 16 and FR 20 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
   (3) Install the forward galleys and lavatories at FR 16 and FR 20, if removed.
To do this, refer to the para. Component Location in the applicable ATA 25 Description/Operation: for the galleys (Ref. AMM D/O 25-31-00-00), for the lavatories (Ref. AMM D/O 25-41-00-00). In this paragraph, you will find the cross-references of the removal/installation tasks.
   (4) Install the door frame lining panels at FR 16 and FR 20 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-006) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-007).
   (5) Close the passenger/crew doors 831 and ( 841) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
