4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-220-091-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the forward passenger/crew door-cutout lower-corners above the cabin floor level. This inspection is applicable at FR16 and FR20 from STGR22 to STGR23 and around the girt bar fittings, right and left sides.

  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) TYPE 3 ON THE MOVABLE COMPONENTS. USE ONLY TPS TYPE 1 GRADE 2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE MECHANISMS WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
   (1) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection. If, after the check, you think that the TPS layer is in the correct condition, you can apply a new layer as a spray on the existing layer.
   (2) Apply PAPER - MASKING or Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fittings adjacent to the area.
   (3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) If, before the inspection, there was:
  • Removal of the TPS layer or
  • Cleaning of the inspection area with high-pressure water, steam, solvents and/or cleaning agents
Apply a full new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (5) Remove the PAPER - MASKING or the Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) .
