Subtask 53-11-00-010-084-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 121 (122).
   (2) Open the avionics-compartment door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (3) Remove the forward avionics-compartment floor-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-13-000-001).
   (4) Remove the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
   (5) Move the wiring bundles.
Subtask 53-11-00-110-098-A
B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If there is a Temporary Protection System (TPS) layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-220-064-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the structure of the aft face of the forward pressure bulkhead. This inspection is applicable below the cockpit floor level and includes FR1 and the stringer connections.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 51220001 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
  • If you find corrosion on the pressure bulkhead above the avionics floor panels, you must examine the full aft face (top and bottom areas) of the pressure bulkhead.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
- If you find other damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 51110001 for damage classification and corrective action.
Subtask 53-11-00-916-058-A
B. Application of the Temporary Protection System
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection. If, after the check, you think that the TPS layer is in the correct condition, you can apply a new layer as a spray on the existing layer.
   (2) Apply PAPER - MASKING or Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fitting adjacent to the area.
   (3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) If, before the inspection, there was:
  • Removal of the TPS layer or
  • Cleaning of the inspection area with high-pressure water, steam, solvents and/or cleaning agents
Apply a full new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (5) Remove the PAPER - MASKING or the Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) .
5. Close-up
Subtask 53-11-00-410-084-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Put the wiring bundles in position.
   (2) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
   (3) Install the forward avionics-compartment floor-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-13-400-001).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (5) Close the avionics-compartment door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
