Subtask 53-11-00-010-071-B
A. Get Access
   (1) Remove the FCU, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 22-81-12-000-001).
   (2) Remove the display unit (4WT1), if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 31-63-22-000-001).
   (3) Remove the vertical lining panel ( 211MW) and the lining panel ( 211LW) from the windshield center post (Ref. AMM TASK 56-11-11-000-001).
   (4) Remove the windshields (Ref. AMM TASK 56-11-11-000-001).
   (5) Remove and discard the rivets from the anchor nut shims (1), refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 514000.
   (6) Remove the anchor nut shims (1) from the windshield center post.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Non-destructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-250-050-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection (HFEC) of the internal side of the lower attachment area of the windshield center post. Refer to NTM 531129.
   (2) Make a report of damage after the NTM inspection:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage types, classification and corrective action.

B. Sealant or Paint Application
   (1) If the NTM procedure asked to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant (Refer to SRM 512400) or paint (Refer to SRM 512300) on the inspection area.

A. Close Access
   (1) Put the anchor nut shims (1) in position on the windshield center post.
   (2) Install the new rivets on the anchor nut shim (1), refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 514000.
   (3) Install the windshields (Ref. AMM TASK 56-11-11-400-001).
   (4) Install the lining panel ( 211LW) and the vertical panel ( 211MW) on the windshield center post (Ref. AMM TASK 56-11-11-400-001).
   (5) Install the display unit (4WT1), if removed (Ref. AMM TASK 31-63-22-400-001).
   (6) Install the FCU, if removed (Ref. AMM TASK 22-81-12-400-001).
   (7) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
