A. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the inspection area.
Subtask 53-11-00-110-140-A
B. Preparation of Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-210-098-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a general visual inspection of the external surface of the fuselage skin and the door frame around the forward passenger/crew door. Do this inspection on the left and right sides. This inspection includes the area between FR12 and FR24 and between the upper and the lateral stringers. This inspection does not include the scuff plate area.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and corrective action.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
