A. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zones 211 and 212.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If there is a temporary protection system (TPS) layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-210-091-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a general visual inspection of the external surface area forward of the windshield for damage or discontinuities. This inspection is applicable above the side panel, from FR0 to FR4, left and right sides.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
     (c) Paint layer damage:
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512300 for general data for paint layers.

CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) TYPE 3 ON THE MOVABLE COMPONENTS. USE ONLY TPS TYPE 1 GRADE 2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE MECHANISMS WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
B. Check and Application of the TPS Layer
NOTE: There is no special requirement about the TPS layer application in this area. The operator can apply TPS or let the surface stay without protection.
   (1) If you removed the TPS at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area” paragraph, and you make the decision to apply a TPS layer, ( (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001)).
   (2) If you did not remove the TPS at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area” paragraph, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer ( (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001)) and make the decision to apply a new TPS layer or not.
   (3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of TPS ( (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001)).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
