A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 210 in front of the windshield.
(2) Remove the lower retainers (Ref. AMM TASK 56-11-11-000-001).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area

Cockpit Windshield - Lower Front Fitting at FR4

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

(1) Remove the sealant from the inspection area with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , if necessary.
(3) Make sure that the surface of the inspection area is clean and smooth.
(4) Do a visual check of the inspection area for damage or discontinuities.
(5) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

4. Procedure
Subtask 53-11-00-250-051-A

A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection of the structure of the lower front fittings of the cockpit windshield. This inspection is applicable at FR4, left and right sides NTM 531170.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

5. Close-up
Subtask 53-11-00-420-052-A

A. Close Access
(1) Install the lower retainers (Ref. AMM TASK 56-11-11-400-001).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
