WARNING:

- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
NOTE: The procedure for the installation of the RH and LH RAT compartment doors is the same.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position around the RAT door.
(2) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) is extended.
(6) Make sure that the protective covers are in position over the blades of the RAT.
Subtask 52-91-11-865-051-A (1) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position around the RAT door.
(2) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
- on the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) is extended.
(6) Make sure that the protective covers are in position over the blades of the RAT.

Subtask 52-91-11-910-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the threads of the screws (12) and the bolt (1).
(5) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the contact surface of the piano hinge (13).
Subtask 52-91-11-420-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the threads of the screws (12) and the bolt (1).
(5) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the contact surface of the piano hinge (13).
B. Installation of the RAT Door
(1) Put the RAT compartment door (11) in its installation position on the belly fairing.
(2) Align the holes of the piano hinge (13) with those in the belly fairing.
(3) Install the screws (12) in the piano hinge (13).
(4) Install the bushes (3),(6) and the spacer (5) in the eye-end of the door operating link (4).
(5) Put the eye-end of the door operating link (4) in the insert assy (10).
(6) Install the bolt (1) together with washers (2) and (7) and the nut (8).
Subtask 52-91-11-910-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the RAT compartment door (11) in its installation position on the belly fairing.
(2) Align the holes of the piano hinge (13) with those in the belly fairing.
(3) Install the screws (12) in the piano hinge (13).
(4) Install the bushes (3),(6) and the spacer (5) in the eye-end of the door operating link (4).
(5) Put the eye-end of the door operating link (4) in the insert assy (10).
(6) Install the bolt (1) together with washers (2) and (7) and the nut (8).
NOTE: You must install the bolt (1) as shown on the label (15).
(7) Safety the nut (8) with a new AIPC 29-22-03-02-118 COTTER PIN (9). C. Preparation for Installation

(5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the bearing of the insert assy (12).
(6) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the contact surface of the base plate (14), the cover plate (11) and the piano hinge (2).
Subtask 52-91-11-420-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the threads of the screws (15),(1),(3) and the bolt (6).
(5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the bearing of the insert assy (12).
(6) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the contact surface of the base plate (14), the cover plate (11) and the piano hinge (2).
D. Installation of the RAT Door
(1) Put the piano hinge (2) in position on the RAT door (13) and install the screws (1).
(2) Put the base plate (14), the insert assy (12) and the cover plate (11) in position on the RAT door (13).
(3) Install the screws (15), the washers (4) and the nuts (5).
(4) Put the RAT door (13) in the installation position on the belly fairing and install the screws (3).
(5) Connect the RAT door (13) with the door link (7) as follows:
(a) Put the door link (7) in the installation position on the insert assy (12).
(b) Install the bolt (6) and make sure that the bolt moves freely.
(c) Install the washer (8) and the nut (9) and secure the nut (9) with a new AIPC 52-91-03-01-040 COTTER PIN (10) or AIPC 52-91-83-01-040 COTTER PIN (10).
Subtask 52-91-11-820-051-B 5. Close-up(1) Put the piano hinge (2) in position on the RAT door (13) and install the screws (1).
(2) Put the base plate (14), the insert assy (12) and the cover plate (11) in position on the RAT door (13).
(3) Install the screws (15), the washers (4) and the nuts (5).
(4) Put the RAT door (13) in the installation position on the belly fairing and install the screws (3).
(5) Connect the RAT door (13) with the door link (7) as follows:
(a) Put the door link (7) in the installation position on the insert assy (12).
(b) Install the bolt (6) and make sure that the bolt moves freely.
(c) Install the washer (8) and the nut (9) and secure the nut (9) with a new AIPC 52-91-03-01-040 COTTER PIN (10) or AIPC 52-91-83-01-040 COTTER PIN (10).
Subtask 52-91-11-410-051-B
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the turbine blades of the RAT.
(3) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006).
(4) Remove the safety barriers.
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 52-91-11-865-053-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the turbine blades of the RAT.
(3) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006).
(4) Remove the safety barriers.
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
