3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-81-00-941-055-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) On the panel 110VU, make sure that the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle is folded into the center console.

B. Get Access
   (1) Remove the NLG door actuating-cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-16-000-001).
   (2) Remove the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-11-010-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-13-010-001).
   (3) Remove the MLG door actuating-cylinders (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-35-000-001).
   (4) Remove the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-11-000-001).
   (5) For the MLG, put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below the applicable zone 734(744).
   (6) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position adjacent to the NLG.
Subtask 52-81-00-160-050-A
C. Clean the Inspection Area
   (1) Use Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the areas of inspection.
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-81-00-220-084-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Special Detailed Inspection of the MLG and NLG Door Hinge-Bearings, Attachment Lug Bushings and Pins and Door Actuating-Cylinders Attachment Lug-Bushings and Pins
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the bushes unless you must replace them.
   (1) Do a check of the dimensions with a standard measurement tool.
NOTE: The measurement tool (such as calliper) must have a precision of one millimeter or less.
   (2) For the MLG and NLG doors, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Make sure that all the lubrication points are serviceable and clean (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-004).
     (b) Replace all the NLG door hinge-bolts with the new bolts:
     (c) Make sure that for all the components:
  • The protective finish or the painted surface is in good condition.
  • There are no cracks or distortions.
  • There is no wear or corrosion.
     (d) If you find this type of damage and that a repair is necessary, contact AIRBUS.
   (3) For the MLG door attachment-fittings, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Do not remove the bushes unless it is necessary to replace them.
     (b) Make sure that the external diameter of the bolt (1) is between 15.841 MM (0.6237 IN.) and 15.859 MM (0.6244 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-12-03-01-140 BOLT (1).
     (c) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (2) is between 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.) and 15.893 MM (0.6257 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (2) SRM 533611.
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spherical bearing (3) is between 15.862 MM (0.6245 IN.) and 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spherical bearing (3).
     (e) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (4) is between 20.000 MM (0.7874 IN.) and 20.021 MM (0.7882 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (4) SRM 533611.
     (f) Make sure that the external diameter of the bolt (5) is between 15.966 MM (0.6286 IN.) and 15.984 MM (0.6293 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-12-03-01-040 BOLT (5).
     (g) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (6) is between 16.000 MM (0.6299 IN.) and 16.018 MM (0.6306 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (6) SRM 533611.
     (h) Make sure that the internal diameter of the flexible bearing (7) is between 16.000 MM (0.6299 IN.) and 16.070 MM (0.6327 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the flexible bearing (7).
     (i) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (8) is between 21.000 MM (0.8268 IN.) and 21.021 MM (0.8276 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (8) SRM 533611.
   (4) For the actuating-cylinder attachment-fittings of the MLG door, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the external diameter of the bolts (9) and (13) is between 15.841 MM (0.6237 IN.) and 15.859 MM (0.6244 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-31-03-60-020 BOLT (9) and AIPC 32-31-03-60-020 BOLT (13).
     (b) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (10) and (14) is between 19.000 MM (0.7480 IN.) and 19.021 MM (0.7489 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bushes (10) and (14) SRM 533611.
     (c) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spherical bearings (11) and (15) is between 15.862 MM (0.6245 IN.) and 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spherical bearings (11) and (15).
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (12) and (16) is between 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.) and 15.893 MM (0.6257 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bushes (12) and AIPC 52-81-18-02-350 BUSH (16) SRM 533611.
   (5) For the actuating-cylinder attachment fittings of the NLG door, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Do not remove the bushes unless it is necessary to replace them.
     (b) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (31), (32) and (34) is between 15.000 MM (0.5906 IN.) and 15.018 MM (0.5913 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 53-16-01-13-170 BUSH (31), AIPC 53-16-01-13-180 BUSH (32) and the AIPC 32-31-01-14-175 BUSH (34).
     (c) Make sure that the external diameter of the pin (33) is between 14.973 MM (0.5895 IN.) and 14.984 MM (0.5899 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-31-01-03-040 PIN (33).
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (35) is between 18.000 MM (0.7087 IN.) and 18.021 MM (0.7095 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-31-01-14-165 BUSH (35).
     (e) Make sure that the external diameters of the pin (36) are as follows:
   (6) For the NLG door attachment-fittings and the actuating cylinder bearings, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spacers (37) is between 6.345 MM (0.2498 IN.) and 6.354 MM (0.2502 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spacers (37).
     (b) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spherical bearings (38) is between 12.69 MM (0.4996 IN.) and 12.70 MM (0.5000 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spherical bearings (38).
     (c) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (39) and (40) is between 11.10 MM (0.4370 IN.) and 11.12 MM (0.4378 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-22-01-05-021 BUSH (39) and AIPC 32-22-01-05-022 BUSH (40).
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (41) is between 8.000 mm (0.3150 in.) and 8.015 mm (0.3156 in.). If it is more than this tolerance replace the AIPC 32-22-01-05-023 BUSH (41).
Subtask 52-81-00-220-084-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Special Detailed Inspection of the MLG and NLG Door Hinge-Bearings, Attachment Lug Bushings and Pins and Door Actuating-Cylinders Attachment Lug-Bushings and Pins
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the bushes unless you must replace them.
   (1) Do a check of the dimensions with a standard measurement tool.
NOTE: The measurement tool (such as calliper) must have a precision of one millimeter or less.
   (2) For the MLG and NLG doors, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Make sure that all the lubrication points are serviceable and clean (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-004).
     (b) Replace all the NLG door hinge-bolts with the new bolts:
     (c) Make sure that for all the components:
  • The protective finish or the painted surface is in good condition.
  • There are no cracks or distortions.
  • There is no wear or corrosion.
     (d) If you find this type of damage and that a repair is necessary, contact AIRBUS.
   (3) For the MLG door attachment-fittings, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Do not remove the bushes unless it is necessary to replace them.
     (b) Make sure that the external diameter of the bolt (1) is between 15.841 MM (0.6237 IN.) and 15.859 MM (0.6244 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-12-03-01-140 BOLT (1) or the AIPC 32-12-83-01-070 BOLT (1).
     (c) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (2) is between 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.) and 15.893 MM (0.6257 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (2) SRM 533611.
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spherical bearing (3) is between 15.862 MM (0.6245 IN.) and 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spherical bearing (3).
     (e) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (4) is between 20.000 MM (0.7874 IN.) and 20.021 MM (0.7882 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (4) SRM 533611.
     (f) Make sure that the external diameter of the bolt (5) is between 15.966 MM (0.6286 IN.) and 15.984 MM (0.6293 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-12-03-01-040 BOLT (5) or the AIPC 32-12-83-01-040 BOLT (5).
     (g) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (6) is between 16.000 MM (0.6299 IN.) and 16.018 MM (0.6306 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (6) SRM 533611.
     (h) Make sure that the internal diameter of the flexible bearing (7) is between 16.000 MM (0.6299 IN.) and 16.070 MM (0.6327 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the flexible bearing (7).
     (i) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (8) is between 21.000 MM (0.8268 IN.) and 21.021 MM (0.8276 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bush (8) SRM 533611.
   (4) For the actuating-cylinder attachment-fittings of the MLG door, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the external diameter of the bolts (9) and (13) is between 15.841 MM (0.6237 IN.) and 15.859 MM (0.6244 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-31-03-60-020 BOLT (9) or the AIPC 32-31-83-60-010 BOLT (9) and the AIPC 32-31-03-60-020 BOLT (13) or the AIPC 32-31-83-60-010 BOLT (13).
     (b) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (10) and (14) is between 19.000 MM (0.7480 IN.) and 19.021 MM (0.7489 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bushes (10) and (14) SRM 533611.
     (c) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spherical bearings (11) and (15) is between 15.862 MM (0.6245 IN.) and 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spherical bearings (11) and (15).
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (12) and (16) is between 15.875 MM (0.6250 IN.) and 15.893 MM (0.6257 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the bushes (12) and the AIPC 52-81-18-02-350 BUSH (16) or the AIPC 52-81-84-02-260 BUSH (16) SRM 533611.
   (5) For the actuating-cylinder attachment fittings of the NLG door, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Do not remove the bushes unless it is necessary to replace them.
     (b) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (31), (32) and (34) is between 15.000 MM (0.5906 IN.) and 15.018 MM (0.5913 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 53-16-01-13-170 BUSH (31) or the AIPC 53-16-81-13-180 BUSH (31), the AIPC 53-16-01-13-180 BUSHING (32) or the AIPC 53-16-81-13-190 BUSHING (32) and the AIPC 32-31-01-14-175 BUSH (34).
     (c) Make sure that the external diameter of the pin (33) is between 14.973 MM (0.5895 IN.) and 14.984 MM (0.5899 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-31-01-03-040 PIN (33) or the AIPC 32-31-81-03-040 PIN (33).
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bush (35) is between 18.000 MM (0.7087 IN.) and 18.021 MM (0.7095 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-31-01-14-165 BUSH (35).
     (e) Make sure that the external diameters of the pin (36) are as follows:
   (6) For the NLG door attachment-fittings and the actuating cylinder bearings, do a check of the dimensions that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spacers (37) is between 6.345 MM (0.2498 IN.) and 6.354 MM (0.2502 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spacers (37).
     (b) Make sure that the internal diameter of the spherical bearings (38) is between 12.69 MM (0.4996 IN.) and 12.70 MM (0.5000 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the spherical bearings (38).
     (c) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (39) and (40) is between 11.10 MM (0.4370 IN.) and 11.12 MM (0.4378 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-22-01-05-021 BUSH (39) or the AIPC 32-22-81-05-021 BUSH (39) and the AIPC 32-22-01-05-022 BUSH (40) or the AIPC 32-22-81-05-022 BUSH (40).
     (d) Make sure that the internal diameter of the bushes (41) and (42) is between 8.000 MM (0.3150 IN.) and 8.015 MM (0.3156 IN.). If it is more than this tolerance, replace the AIPC 32-22-01-05-024 BUSHING (41) or the AIPC 32-22-81-05-024 BUSHING (41) and the AIPC 32-22-01-05-024 BUSHING (42) or the AIPC 32-22-81-05-024 BUSHING (42).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the NLG door actuating-cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-16-400-001).
   (3) Install the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-11-410-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-13-410-001).
   (4) Install the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-11-400-001).
   (5) Install the MLG door actuating-cylinders (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-35-400-001).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the ground safety lock (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-081-001).
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
