A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the applicable FWD passenger/crew door 831 or 841.
   (2) Open the applicable FWD passenger/crew door 831 or 841 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).

D. Disarming of the Escape Slide of the Emergency Exit
   (1) Disarm the escape slide of the emergency exits (10) as follows:
     (a) Open and remove the flaps (8).
NOTE: The white SLIDE ARMED indicator-light (11) comes on.
     (b) Turn the head of the latch pin (9) with a WRENCH - SPANNER a quarter turncounterclockwise to retract the latch pin (9).
NOTE: The white SLIDE ARMED indicator-light (11) goes off.

E. Removal of the Lining Panel
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector from the SLIDE ARMED indicator-light.
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove the lining panel:
     (a) FOR [6WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
241FW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-002).
     (b) FOR [6WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE, R AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
242FW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-002).
   (4) Remove the insulation blanket.
   (5) Remove the air outlet (7).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-73-11-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Proximity Switch
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the proximity switch (2).
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove and discard the lockwire.
   (4) Remove the nut (5) and the washer (4).
   (5) Remove the proximity switch (2).
