B. Get Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841.
   (2) Open the FWD applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

D. Removal of the Lining Panel
   (1) Remove the lining panel:
     (a) FOR [4WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L FWD ESC SLIDE)
831CZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
     (b) FOR [4WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE, R FWD ESC SLIDE)
841CZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
   (2) Remove the insulation blanket.
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-73-11-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Proximity Switch
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the proximity switch (2).
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove and discard the lockwire.
   (4) Remove the nut (5) and the washer (4).
   (5) Remove the proximity switch (2) from the support (3).
