A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of emergency exit door 835( 845).
   (2) Open the applicable emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
   (4) Close and lock the applicable emergency exit door.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key (the "DOOR/OXY" page comes into view).
   (3) For the overwing emergency-exit doors, do the special precautions before you start the work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-73-00-710-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Operational Test of the Warning System Related to the Emergency Exit Doors
   (1) Do the tests that follow:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the left emergency-exit door:
  • Open the protection cover.
  • Remove the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE.
  • Put the slide control handle in the ARMED position.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The symbol of the left emergency-exit door comes into view in green.
  • The "SLIDE" message comes into view in white.
On the left emergency-exit door:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light is off.
2.On the left emergency-exit door:
  • Hold the door and pull the inboard control handle until the "UNLOCKED" indication comes into view on the locking indication window.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The "EMER EXIT" message and the symbol for the left emergency-exit door come into view in amber.
  • The "SLIDE" message stays shown in white.
On the left emergency-exit door:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light comes on.
3.On the left emergency-exit door:
  • Put the slide control handle in the DISARMED position.
  • Install the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE.
  • Push the inboard control handle of the left emergency-exit door until the "LOCKED" indication comes into view on the locking indication window.
  • Close the protection cover.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The "SLIDE" message goes out of view.
On the left emergency-exit door:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light goes off.
  • The symbol of the left emergency-exit door becomes green.
  • The "EMER EXIT" message goes out of view.
   (2) Make sure that the clearance between the target and the related proximity switch is in the limits (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-007).
   (3) Do steps (1) and (2) again for the right emergency-exit door.
NOTE: The test of the right emergency-exit door is the same as the test of the left emergency-exit door.
Subtask 52-73-00-710-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE EMERGENCY EXITS.
B. Operational Test of the Warning System Related to the Overwing Emergency-Exit Doors
   (1) Do the tests that follow:

1.On the forward left-overwing emergency-exit door:
  • Remove the handle cover (1).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The symbol of the forward left-overwing emergency-exit door changes from the green empty box to the amber filled box.
  • The "EMER EXIT" message comes into view.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) comes on.
2.Disarm the slide release mechanism:
  • Pull the slide release shaft (5) to the right side.
  • Turn the slide release shaft (5) clockwise until the lever (3) is behind the disarm bracket (4).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The white "SLIDE" indication goes out of view.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) goes off.
3.On the aft left-overwing emergency-exit door:
  • Remove the handle cover (1).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The symbol of the aft left-overwing emergency-exit door changes from the green empty box to the amber filled box.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) comes on.
4.Disarm the slide release mechanism:
  • Pull the slide release shaft (5) to the left side.
  • Turn the slide release shaft (5) counterclockwise until the lever (3) is behind the disarm bracket (4).
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) goes off.
5.On the forward left-overwing emergency-exit door:
  • Arm the slide release mechanism:
  • Pull the slide release shaft (5) to the right side to release it from the disarm bracket (4).
  • Turn the slide release shaft (5) counterclockwise and push it to the left side.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) comes on.
  • Install the handle cover (1).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The symbol of the forward left-overwing emergency-exit door changes from the amber filled box to the green empty box.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) goes off.
6.On the aft left-overwing emergency-exit door:
  • Arm the slide release mechanism:
  • Pull the slide release shaft (5) to the left to release it from the disarm bracket (4).
  • Turn the slide release shaft (5) clockwise and push it to the right.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The white "SLIDE" indication comes into view.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) comes on.
  • Install the handle cover (1).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "DOOR/OXY" page:
  • The symbol of the aft left-overwing emergency-exit door changes from the amber filled box to the green empty box.
  • The "EMER EXIT" message goes out of view.
In the cabin:
  • The "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light (2) goes off.
   (2) Make sure that the clearance between the target and the related proximity switch is in the limits (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-805).
   (3) Do steps (1) and (2) again for the right overwing emergency-exit door
NOTE: The test of the right overwing emergency-exit doors is the same as the test of the left-overwing emergency-exit doors.
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-73-00-860-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) For the overwing emergency-exit doors, do the special precautions after work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
Subtask 52-73-00-410-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the applicable emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
   (3) Close the applicable emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

C. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
