3. Job Set-up

WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:

THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.

IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the emergency exit door (referred to as door) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the open door.
(3) Make sure that the special precaution procedure on the door damper and emergency operation cylinder is done (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Remove the door lining from the applicable section of the door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-013) and (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-012).

A. Removal of the Proximity Switch

Proximity Switch / Target Adjustment ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) Remove the proximity sensor (2) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the proximity sensor (2).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove and discard the lockwire from the locknut (8).
(d) Remove the locknut (8) with the lockwasher (9).
(e) Remove the proximity sensor (2) from the attachment bracket (3).
(2) Remove the target (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the locknut (7).
(b) Remove the locknut (7) and the lockwasher (6) from the target (4).
(c) Remove the target (4) from the shaft lever (5).
