A. Get Access

(1) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
(2) Open the forward or aft passenger/crew door to get access to the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Remove the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(4) If you remove more than one cover flap (13), make a mark on each of them to make the installation easier.
(5) Remove the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) to get access to the related proximity switch (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-71-13-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Proximity Switch
(1) Remove the target bracket (2) from the cover flap (13) as follows:

NOTE: The target (1) is pushed in the target bracket (2).

(a) Remove the screws (4) and the washers (3) from the target bracket (2).
(b) Remove the target bracket (2) together with the target (1) from the rear side of the cover flap (13).
(2) Remove the proximity switch (6) from the support bracket (7) as follows:
(a) Remove the screws (11) and the washers (10).
(b) Carefully remove the support bracket (7) from the hatch frame of the cabin lining (12).
(c) Disconnect the electrical connector (5) from the proximity switch (6).
(d) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(e) Cut and discard the lockwire from the lock washer (8) and the lock nut (9).
(f) Remove the lock nut (9) and the lock washer (8) from the proximity switch (6).
(g) Remove the proximity switch (6) from the support bracket (7).
