3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-71-00-860-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the overhead panel, on the SIGNS section of control panel 25VU, make sure that:

The EMER EXIT LT switch is in the OFF position.
The NO PED switch is in the OFF position.

(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate these switches.
(4) On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that the EMER button and its light are off.
(5) Make sure that applicable overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 843) or 834 ( 844) is closed, latched and locked (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-802).
(6) Do the special precaution before you do work on the offwing escape-slide systems:

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:

DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE

WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(a) Do the special precaution before you do work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).

Remove door lining (8) 833AZ ( 843AZ) or 834AZ ( 844AZ) of overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 843) or 834 ( 844) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-803).

(a) Measure clearance A between the target (5) and the proximity switch (4) with the GAGE - FEELER.
(b) Make sure that clearance A is 2 +0.15 mm or -0.15 mm (0.0787 +0.0059 in. or -0.0059 in.).
(c) If clearance A is out of tolerances, go to the step (3).
(2) FOR [33WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE FLAP, L FWD OVERWING DOOR), [33WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE FLAP, R FWD OVERWING DOOR), [33WN3] (PROX SW-HANDLE FLAP, L AFT OVERWING DOOR), [33WN4] (PROX SW-HANDLE FLAP, R AFT OVERWING DOOR)
(a) Apply Individual Compound-- Modeling Paste - (Material No.14VGF1) to the tip of the proximity switch (4).
(b) Close the handle cover (9) to a clearance of approximately 10 mm (0.3937 in.) at its upper edge.
(c) Open and remove the handle cover (9).
(d) Measure the thickness of the compressed putty with the CALIPER.

NOTE: This is related to clearance A between the target (5) and the proximity switch (4).

(e) Make sure that clearance A is 1.5 -0.5 MM or +0.5 MM (0.0591 -0.0197 IN. or +0.0197 IN.).
(f) If clearance A is out of tolerances, go to step (4).
(g) Remove the putty from the proximity switch (4).
(h) Install the handle cover (9).

If clearance A is not in the tolerances, adjust it as follows:

(a) Unfold the lockwasher (2) from the bracket (1) and the nut (3).
(b) Loosen the nut (3) of the target (5).
(c) Turn the target (5) until clearance A is 2 +0.15 mm or -0.15 mm (0.0787 +0.0059 in. or -0.0059 in.).
(d) Tighten the nut (3).
(e) Fold the lockwasher (2) on the nut (3) and the bracket (1).

If clearance A is not in the tolerances, adjust it as follows:

(a) Loosen the two screws (7).
(b) Adjust the bracket (6) until clearance A is in the tolerances.
(c) Tighten the screws (7).
(d) Apply Individual Compound-- Modeling Paste - (Material No.14VGF1) to the tip of the proximity switch (4).
(e) Close the handle cover (9) to a clearance of approximately 10 mm (0.3937 in.) at its upper edge.
(f) Open and remove the handle cover (9).
(g) Measure the thickness of the compressed putty with the CALIPER.

NOTE: This is related to clearance A between the target (5) and the proximity switch (4).

(h) Make sure that clearance A is 1.5 -0.5 MM or +0.5 MM (0.0591 -0.0197 IN. or +0.0197 IN.).
(i) If necessary, do the steps (a) thru (h) again.
(j) Remove the putty from the proximity switch (4).
(k) Install the handle cover (9).

Proximity Switches of the Overwing Emergency-Exit Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

Install door lining (8) 833AZ ( 843AZ) or 834AZ ( 844AZ) of applicable overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 843) or 834 ( 844) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-803).

(2) On the ECAM SD, make sure that the overwing emergency-exit door is shown closed (green).
(3) Do an operational test of the warning system related to the overwing emergency-exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-00-710-002).
