Adjustment of the Proximity Switches of the Aft Emergency-Exit Doors with the ECAM Display Unit (DU)
WARNING:
STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
1. Reason for the Job- KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
- CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
There are two methods to do the adjustment of the proximity switches of the emergency exits:
- Mechanically with the CHECKING TOOL-DOORS
- Electronically with the ECAM DU.

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at applicable aft emergency-exit door 835 or 845.
(2) Open applicable aft emergency-exit door 835 or 845 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Close applicable aft emergency-exit door 835 or 845 from the inside (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
Subtask 52-71-00-010-099-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at applicable aft emergency-exit door 835 or 845.
(2) Open applicable aft emergency-exit door 835 or 845 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Close applicable aft emergency-exit door 835 or 845 from the inside (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
C. Removal of the Lining Panel
(1) Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-802):
(a) FOR [6WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)

- Lining panel 835CZ.
- Lining panel 845CZ.
D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aft emergency-exit doors are closed.
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key (on the lower ECAM DU, the "DOOR/OXY" page comes into view).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the aft emergency-exit doors are closed.
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key (on the lower ECAM DU, the "DOOR/OXY" page comes into view).
Subtask 52-71-00-820-086-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switches
(2) Put the emergency control handle in the ARMED position.
(3) Removal of the lockwire:
(4) Loosen the nut (4) of the target (3).
(5) Turn the target (3) until the "SLIDE" message comes into view in white on the lower ECAM DU.
(7) From this position, turn the target (3) between 2 and 2.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
(8) Tighten the nut (4).
(9) Installation of the lockwire:
14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -
(10) Put the emergency control handle in the DISARMED position.
(11) Install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
Subtask 52-71-00-710-076-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN THE EMERGENCY EXIT DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
(1) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING. (2) Put the emergency control handle in the ARMED position.
(3) Removal of the lockwire:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (4). (4) Loosen the nut (4) of the target (3).
(5) Turn the target (3) until the "SLIDE" message comes into view in white on the lower ECAM DU.
NOTE: The target (3) must not touch the proximity switch (2).
(6) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the "SLIDE" message goes out of view on the lower ECAM DU. (7) From this position, turn the target (3) between 2 and 2.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
(8) Tighten the nut (4).
(9) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Safety the nut (4) with the (10) Put the emergency control handle in the DISARMED position.
(11) Install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
B. Operational Test
(1) Do an operational test of the warning system related to the aft emergency-exit doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-00-710-002).
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the warning system related to the aft emergency-exit doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-00-710-002).
Subtask 52-71-00-860-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
Subtask 52-71-00-410-102-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
B. Installation of the Lining Panel
(1) Install the insulation.
(2) Install the removed lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-802):
(a) FOR [6WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
Subtask 52-71-00-410-103-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the insulation.
(2) Install the removed lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-802):
(a) FOR [6WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
- Lining panel 835CZ.
- Lining panel 845CZ.
C. Close Access
(1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close applicable emergency exit door 835 or 845 from the outside (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 52-71-00-862-078-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close applicable emergency exit door 835 or 845 from the outside (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
