A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 52-71-00-010-081-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Get Access
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at applicable emergency exit door 833, 834, 843 or 844.
   (2) Open applicable emergency exit door 833, 834, 843 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
   (4) Close applicable emergency exit door 833, 834, 843 or 844 from the inside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).

C. Removal of the Lining Panel
   (1) Remove the lining panel:
     (a) FOR [5WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L FWD EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
     (b) FOR [5WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE, R FWD EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
     (c) FOR [6WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
     (d) FOR [6WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE, R AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
   (2) Remove the insulation.

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the emergency exit doors are closed.
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key (on the lower ECAM DU, the "DOOR/OXY" page comes into view).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-71-00-820-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE EMERGENCY EXIT DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
   (1) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
   (2) Put the emergency control handle in the ARMED position.
   (3) Removal of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (4).
   (4) Loosen the nut (4).
   (5) Turn the target (3) until the "SLIDE" message comes into view in white on the lower ECAM DU.
NOTE: The target (3) must not touch the proximity switch (2).
   (6) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the "SLIDE" message goes out of view on the lower ECAM DU.
   (7) From this position, turn the target (3) between 2 and 2.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
   (8) Tighten the nut (4).
   (9) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the nut (4) with the 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (10) Put the emergency control handle in the DISARMED position.
   (11) Install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
Subtask 52-71-00-820-075-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE EMERGENCY EXIT DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
   (1) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
   (2) Put the emergency control handle in the ARMED position.

   (4) Loosen the nut (4) of the target (3).
   (5) Turn the target (3) until the "SLIDE" message comes into view in white on the lower ECAM DU.
NOTE: The target (3) must not touch the proximity switch (2).
   (6) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the "SLIDE" message goes out of view on the lower ECAM DU.
   (7) From this position, turn the target (3) 3.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
   (8) Tighten the nut (4).
   (9) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the nut (4) with the 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (10) Put the emergency control handle in the DISARMED position.
   (11) Install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.

B. Operational Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the warning system related to the emergency exit doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-00-710-002).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).

B. Installation of the Lining Panel
   (1) Install the insulation.
   (2) Install the lining panel:
     (a) FOR [5WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L FWD EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
     (b) FOR [5WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE, R FWD EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
     (c) FOR [6WN1] (PROX SW-HANDLE, L AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)
     (d) FOR [6WN2] (PROX SW-HANDLE, R AFT EMER EXIT ESC SLIDE)

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
   (3) Close applicable emergency exit door 833, 834, 843 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

D. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
