Adjustment of the Proximity Switches of the Emergency Exit Doors with the ECAM Display Unit (DU)
WARNING:
STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
1. Reason for the Job- KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
- CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
There are two methods to do the adjustment of the proximity switches of the emergency exit doors:
- Mechanically - with the doors checking tool
- Electronically - with the ECAM DU.

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at emergency exit door 834, 843, 833 or 844.
(2) Open the applicable emergency exit door from the outside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Close emergency exit door 834, 843, 833 or 844 from the inside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
Subtask 52-71-00-010-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at emergency exit door 834, 843, 833 or 844.
(2) Open the applicable emergency exit door from the outside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Close emergency exit door 834, 843, 833 or 844 from the inside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
C. Removal of the Lining Panel
(1) Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-013):
(a) For 19WV1:

(a) For 19WV1:
- Lining panel 833EZ.
- Lining panel 834EZ.
- Lining panel 843EZ.
- Lining panel 844EZ.
D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at emergency exit door 835 or 845.
(2) Open the applicable emergency exit door from the outside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Close emergency exit door 835 or 845 from the inside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
Subtask 52-71-00-010-074-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at emergency exit door 835 or 845.
(2) Open the applicable emergency exit door from the outside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(4) Close emergency exit door 835 or 845 from the inside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
E. Removal of the Lining Panel
(1) Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-802):
(a) For 21WV1:

(a) For 21WV1:
- Lining panel 843EZ.
- Lining panel 844EZ.
F. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the emergency exit doors are closed.
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key (on the lower ECAM DU, the "DOOR/OXY" page comes into view).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the emergency exit doors are closed.
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key (on the lower ECAM DU, the "DOOR/OXY" page comes into view).
Subtask 52-71-00-820-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switches
Proximity Switches (19WV1, 19WV2, 21WV1 and 21WV2) of the Emergency Exit Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(2) Release the lock washer (5) from the nut (4).
(3) Remove the nut (4).
(4) Remove and discard the lock washer (5) from the target (3).
(5) Install the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-430 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-690 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-615 LOCK WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-218 LOCK WASHER (5) and the nut (4).
(6) Turn the target (3) until the symbol of the door becomes green on the lower ECAM DU.
(7) Make sure that the target (3) does not touch the proximity switch (2).
(8) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the symbol becomes amber on the lower ECAM DU.
(9) From this position, turn the target (3) between 2 and 2.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
(10) Tighten the nut (4).
(11) Safety the nut (4) with the new lock washer (5).
Subtask 52-71-00-820-064-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Proximity Switches (19WV1, 19WV2, 21WV1 and 21WV2) of the Emergency Exit Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN THE EMERGENCY EXIT DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
(1) Make sure that the emergency exit doors are closed.(2) Release the lock washer (5) from the nut (4).
(3) Remove the nut (4).
(4) Remove and discard the lock washer (5) from the target (3).
(5) Install the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-430 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-690 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-615 LOCK WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-218 LOCK WASHER (5) and the nut (4).
(6) Turn the target (3) until the symbol of the door becomes green on the lower ECAM DU.
(7) Make sure that the target (3) does not touch the proximity switch (2).
(8) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the symbol becomes amber on the lower ECAM DU.
(9) From this position, turn the target (3) between 2 and 2.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
(10) Tighten the nut (4).
(11) Safety the nut (4) with the new lock washer (5).
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switches
Proximity Switches (19WV1, 19WV2, 21WV1 and 21WV2) of the Emergency Exit Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Proximity Switches (21WV1 and 21WV2) of the Emergency Exit Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(2) Release the lock washer (5) from the nut (4).
(3) Remove the nut (4).
(4) Remove and discard the lock washer (5) from the target (3).
(5) Install the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-430 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-690 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-615 LOCK WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-218 LOCK WASHER (5) and the nut (4).
(6) Turn the target (3) until the symbol of the door becomes green on the lower ECAM DU.
(7) Make sure that the target (3) does not touch the proximity switch (2).
(8) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the symbol becomes amber on the lower ECAM DU.
(9) From this position, turn the target (3) 3.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
(10) Tighten the nut (4).
(11) Safety the nut (4) with the new lock washer (5).
Subtask 52-71-00-710-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Proximity Switches (19WV1, 19WV2, 21WV1 and 21WV2) of the Emergency Exit Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Proximity Switches (21WV1 and 21WV2) of the Emergency Exit Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN THE EMERGENCY EXIT DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
(1) Make sure that the emergency exit doors are closed.(2) Release the lock washer (5) from the nut (4).
(3) Remove the nut (4).
(4) Remove and discard the lock washer (5) from the target (3).
(5) Install the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-430 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-24-690 LOCK WASHER (5), the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-615 LOCK WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 52-22-21-09-218 LOCK WASHER (5) and the nut (4).
(6) Turn the target (3) until the symbol of the door becomes green on the lower ECAM DU.
(7) Make sure that the target (3) does not touch the proximity switch (2).
(8) Turn the target (3) in the opposite direction until the symbol becomes amber on the lower ECAM DU.
(9) From this position, turn the target (3) 3.5 turns in the direction of the proximity switch (2).
(10) Tighten the nut (4).
(11) Safety the nut (4) with the new lock washer (5).
B. Operational Test
(1) Do an operational test of the warning system related to the emergency exit doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-00-710-002).
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the warning system related to the emergency exit doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-00-710-002).
Subtask 52-71-00-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
Subtask 52-71-00-410-078-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
B. Installation of the Lining Panel
(1) Install the insulation.
(2) Install the removed lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-013):
(a) For 19WV1:

(2) Install the removed lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-013):
(a) For 19WV1:
- Lining panel 833EZ.
- Lining panel 834EZ.

- Lining panel 844EZ.
C. Close Access
(1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close emergency exit door 833, 843, 843 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 52-71-00-410-078-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close emergency exit door 833, 843, 843 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
D. Installation of the Lining Panel
(1) Install the insulation.
(2) Install the removed lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-802):
(a) For 21WV1:

E. Close Access
(1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close emergency exit door 835 or 845 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 52-71-00-862-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close emergency exit door 835 or 845 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
