A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of passenger/crew door 831, 841, 832 or 842.
   (2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

C. Removal of the Lining Panel
   (1) FOR [11WV1] (PROX SW-HOOK, L FWD PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove lining panels 221SW and 221VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-005).
   (2) FOR [11WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R FWD PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove lining panels 222SW and 222VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-002).
   (3) FOR [15WV1] (PROX SW-HOOK, L AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove lining panels 261UW and 261VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-003).
   (4) FOR [15WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove lining panels 262UW and 262VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-004).
   (5) Remove the insulation blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the doors are closed.
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key:
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the "DOOR /OXY" page comes into view.
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-71-00-820-052-B
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
   (1) Turn the screw (2) clockwise until the symbol of the passenger/crew door becomes green on the lower ECAM DU.
   (2) Make sure that the target (3) does not touch the proximity switch (1).
   (3) Turn the screw (2) counterclockwise until the symbol of the passenger/crew door becomes amber on the lower ECAM DU.
     (a) Do this adjustment carefully to accurately set the proximity switch (1) from the target Near position to the target Far position.
NOTE: The symbol of the passenger/crew door on the lower ECAM DU changes at intervals of 1.5 seconds if the condition of the proximity switch (1) changes.
NOTE:
  • For [11WV1] and [11WV2] , the screw (2) locks each half turn.
  • For [15WV1] and [15WV2] , the screw (2) locks each quarter turn.
   (4) From this position, turn the screw (2) 3.5 turns to make the target (3) turn in the direction of the proximity switch (1).
     (a) If you turn the screw (2) less than 3.5 turns:
  • The unwanted "DOOR OPEN" warning can come into view.
     (b) If you turn the screw (2) more than 3.5 turns:
  • The proximity switch (1) can touch the target (3).
   (5) Make sure that the flats of the screw (3) are in the same position as shown in the figure.

B. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the warning system related to the passenger/crew doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-710-001).

   (3) FOR [11WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R FWD PAX/CREW DOOR)
Install lining panels 222SW and 222VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-007).
   (4) FOR [15WV1] (PROX SW-HOOK, L AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Install lining panels 261UW and 261VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-008).
   (5) FOR [15WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Install lining panels 262UW and 262VW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-005).

C. Close Access
   (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (4) Close passenger/crew door 831, 841, 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
