B. Get Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of passenger/crew door 831, 841, 832 or 842.
   (2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

D. Removal of the Lining Panel
NOTE: You can refer to AMM chapter 06 for the door-frame lining details (Ref. AMM D/O 06-41-53-00).
   (1) FOR [11WV1] (PROX SW-HOOK, L FWD PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-005).
   (2) FOR [11WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R FWD PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-002).
   (3) FOR [15WV1] (PROX SW-HOOK, L AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-003).
   (4) FOR [15WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Remove the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-004).
   (5) Remove the insulation blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-71-00-820-050-B
A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.
   (1) Make sure that the doors are closed.
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) of the proximity switch (1).
   (3) Connect the 355M03210000 CHECKING TOOL-DOORS or the G55M03210000 CHECKING TOOL - DOORS to the electrical connector (2) of the proximity switch (1).
   (4) Turn the screw (3) clockwise until the NEAR indicator light comes on.
   (5) Make sure that the target (4) does not touch the proximity switch (1).
   (6) Turn the screw (3) counterclockwise until the FAR indicator light comes on. Continue to turn the screw (3) until the flats are in the same position as shown in the figure.
     (a) Do this adjustment carefully to accurately set the proximity switch (1) from the target Near position to the target Far position.
NOTE:
  • For [11WV1] and [11WV2] , the screw (3) locks each half turn.
  • For [15WV1] and [15WV2] , the screw (3) locks each quarter turn.
   (7) From this position, turn the screw (3) 3.5 turns clockwise to make the target (4) turn in the direction of the proximity switch (1).
     (a) If you turn the screw (3) less than 3.5 turns:
  • The unwanted "DOOR OPEN" warning can come into view.
     (b) If you turn the screw (3) more than 3.5 turns:
  • The proximity switch (1) can touch the target (4).
   (8) Make sure that the flats of the screw (3) are in the same position as shown in the figure.
   (9) Disconnect the 355M03210000 CHECKING TOOL-DOORS or the G55M03210000 CHECKING TOOL - DOORS from the electrical connector (2) of the proximity switch (1).
   (10) Connect the electrical connector (2) of the proximity switch (1) to its related connector.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

Install the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-006).

Install the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-007).
   (4) FOR [15WV1] (PROX SW-HOOK, L AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Install the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-008).
   (5) FOR [15WV2] (PROX SW-HOOK, R AFT PAX/CREW DOOR)
Install the applicable lining panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-005).

B. Close Access
   (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (4) Close passenger/crew door 831, 841, 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
