3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-70-00-010-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Put the access platform in position at the applicable FWD passenger/crew door 831 or 841.
   (2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Do an EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
Subtask 52-70-00-010-065-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-70-00-210-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Visual Check to Make Sure that the Emergency Exit is Correctly Closed
   (1) Visual check to make sure that the applicable emergency exit hatch is correctly closed.
     (a) Pull down the cover flap (3) from the hatch (4) and remove it.
     (b) Examine the locking hooks (6) to make sure that they are engaged with the upper roller fittings (5) in the hatch frame.
     (c) Install the cover flap (3) on the hatch (4) and push it against the hatch (4).
     (d) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key:
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the DOOR/OXY page comes into view.
     (e) If the EMER EXIT indication stays on on the lower ECAM DU, examine the hatch position from the outboard side.
NOTE: The hatch (4) must be flush with the fuselage.
     (f) If the hatch position is not correct, remove the hatch (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-000-001) and install it again (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-400-001).
   (2) Visual check to make sure that the applicable emergency exit hatch is in the ARMED mode
     (a) Make sure that the escape-slide release mechanism is not in the MAINTENANCE mode.
       1 Pull down the cover flap (3) from the hatch (4) and remove it.
       2 Make sure that the latch pin (1) is not in the DISARMED position (latch pin retracted).
     (b) If the latch pin (1) is in the DISARMED poisition (escape-slide release mechanism in MAINTENANCE mode), arm the slide release mechanism as follows:
       1 With a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL, push the latch pin (1) against the spring (2).
       2 Turn the head of the latch pin (1) a quarter turn clockwise to extend the latch pin (1).
       3 Make sure that the white SLIDE ARMED white indicator light, located in the cabin lining near the emergency exits, is on.
     (c) Install the cover flap (3) on the hatch (4) and push it against the hatch (4).
NOTE: The white SLIDE ARMED indicator light goes off.
     (d) If the latch pin (1) is the extended position, make sure that the indication is correct on the lower ECAM DU.
   (3) Entry in the log book
     (a) If the indication is not correct, make an entry in the aircraft log book to record that:
  • The SLIDE indication of the hatch is defective on the lower ECAM DU.
  • The hatch (4) is in the ARMED mode.
  • The EMER EXIT indication is defective on the lower ECAM DU.
  • The hatch (4) is correctly installed and locked.
Subtask 52-70-00-210-070-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Visual Check of the Emergency Exit Closure and the Slide Arming
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only to MMEL 52-07-04A.
   (1) Do a visual check to make sure that the applicable emergency overwing door is correctly closed:

     (a) On the visual lock indicator (21):
       1 Make sure that the black arrows (23) are aligned with the black lines (22) from the green segment.
       2 If the black arrows (23) are not aligned with the black lines (22) from the green segment, then close the emergency overwing door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-802).
       3 Examine the emergency overwing door position from the outboard side.
       4 Make sure that the emergency overwing door is flush with the fuselage.
   (2) Do a visual check to make sure that the applicable emergency overwing door is in the ARMED mode:

     (a) Remove the handle cover (1).
     (b) If the lever (3) is behind the disarm bracket (4), arm the slide release mechanism:
       1 On the forward left emergency-overwing-door:
         a Pull the slide release shaft (5) to the right side to release it from the disarm bracket (4).
         b Turn the slide release shaft (5) counterclockwise and push it to the left side.
       2 On the forward right emergency-overwing-door:
         a Pull the slide release shaft (5) to the left side to release it from the disarm bracket (4).
         b Turn the slide release shaft (5) clockwise and push it to the right side.
     (c) Install the handle cover (1).
NOTE: The SLIDE ARMED indicator light (2) can stay on after the installation of the handle cover (1).
   (3) Make an entry in the logbook.
Subtask 52-70-00-210-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Visual Check of the Emergency Exit Closure
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only to MMEL 52-07-04B.
   (1) Do a visual check to make sure that the two applicable emergency overwing doors on the same side are correctly closed:

     (a) On the visual lock indicator (21):
       1 Make sure that the black arrows (23) are aligned with the black lines (22) from the green segment.
       2 If the black arrows (23) are not aligned with the black lines (22) from the green segment, then close the emergency overwing door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-802).
       3 Examine the emergency overwing door position from the outboard side.
       4 Make sure that the emergency overwing door is flush with the fuselage.
     (b) Put a PLACARD in position on the two emergency overwing doors on the same side to tell people not to use the two doors in an emergency situation.
   (2) Make an entry in the logbook.
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-70-00-410-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove all the ground support equipment, maintenance equipment, standard and special tools and all other items.
   (2) Do an EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (3) Close the applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
