Visual Test to Make Sure that the Escape Slide is in the "ARMED" Position

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-70-00-010-061-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at applicable forward passenger/crew door 831 or 841.
   (2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-70-00-210-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Visual Test to Make Sure that the Escape Slide is in the "ARMED" Position
   (1) On the Emergency Exit door, make sure that the escape-slide release mechanism is not in the MAINTENANCE mode.
     (a) Pull down the cover flap of the hatch and remove it.
     (b) Make sure that the latch pin is not in the "SLIDE DISARMED" position (retracted latch pin).
     (c) Put the cover flap on the hatch and push it against the hatch.

A. Visual Test to Make Sure that the Escape Slide is in the "ARMED" Position
NOTE: On each side of the cabin, in the cabin lining, one "SLIDE ARMED" indicator light is installed between the OWEs.
   (1) Open the handle cover to get access to the slide arming mechanism.
   (2) Set the slide arming mechanism to "SLIDE ARMED".
   (3) Make sure that the "SLIDE ARMED" light comes into view on the door.
   (4) Close the handle cover.
   (5) Make sure that the "SLIDE ARMED" light goes out of view.
   (6) Open the handle cover.
   (7) Set the slide arming mechanism to "SLIDE DISARMED" again.
   (8) Close the handle cover.

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove all the ground support equipment, maintenance equipment, standard and special tools and all other items from the inspection area.
   (2) Obey the special precautions after work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (3) Close applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Make an entry in the logbook.
