Test of the Proximity Switches of the Doors

1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: This procedure must agree with the note related to MMEL item 25-07-0X.
This is applicable when there is an incorrect "ARMED" or "NOT ARMED" indication on the slide for the passenger doors.
This procedure gives the instructions necessary to:
  • Clean the related switch
  • Get the correct "SLIDE ARMED" indication on the ECAM DOOR/OXY page.

     (d) 7WN2 for the right-aft passenger/crew door
     (e) 5WN1 for the left-forward emergency exit
     (f) 5WN2 for the right-forward emergency exit
     (g) 6WN1 for the left-aft emergency exit
     (h) 6WN2 for the right-aft emergency exit.

   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 or 832 or 842.
   (2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at applicable emergency exit 833, 843 or 834 or 844.
   (5) Open the applicable emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
   (6) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).

   (5) Open the applicable emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).

A. Check of the Defective Proximity Switch
   (1) Clean the defective proximity switch with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) If the fault continues:
     (a) Replace the defective proximity switch.
       1 If a new proximity switch is available:
       2 If no proximity switch are available, replace the defective proximity switch by a proximity switch removed from the avionics compartment doors.
NOTE: If a proximity switch from the avionics compartment was used, the MMEL for the avionics-compartment door indication (Ref. AMM TASK 52-70-00-040-004) will be applicable if the avionics-compartment door indication is incorrect.
     (b) If the fault continues:
  • Refer to the MMEL document for dispatch conditions.
Subtask 52-70-00-040-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Check of the Defective Proximity Switch
   (1) Clean the defective proximity switch with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) If the fault continues:
     (a) Replace the defective proximity switch.
       1 If a new proximity switch is available:
       2 If no proximity switch are available, replace the defective proximity switch by a proximity switch from the avionics compartment doors.
NOTE: If a proximity switch from the avionics compartment was used, the MMEL for the avionics-compartment door indication (Ref. AMM TASK 52-70-00-040-004) will be applicable if the avionics-compartment door indication is incorrect.
     (b) If the fault continues:

   (1) Remove all the ground support equipment, the maintenance equipment, the standard and special tools and all other items from the inspection area.
   (2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
   (3) Close applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 or 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Close Access
   (1) Remove all the ground support equipment, the maintenance equipment, the standard and special tools and all other items from the inspection area.

   (4) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (6) Close applicable emergency exit 833 or 843 or 834 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
   (7) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Close Access
   (1) Remove all the ground support equipment, the maintenance equipment, the standard and special tools and all other items from the inspection area.
   (2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
   (3) Close applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 or 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (4) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (6) Close applicable emergency exit 835 or 845 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
   (7) Remove the access platform(s).
