(1) The identification of the proximity switches is as follows:

(c) 17WV1 for the L AFT passenger/crew door
(d) 17WV2 for the R AFT passenger/crew door
(e) 19WV1 for the L FWD emergency exit
(f) 19WV2 for the R FWD emergency exit
(g) 21WV1 for the L AFT emergency exit
(h) 21WV2 for the R AFT emergency exit

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 or 832 or 842.
(2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the applicable emergency exit 833 or 843 or 834 or 844.
(5) Open the applicable emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(6) Apply the safety precautions before you start work on the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-70-00-040-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Check of the Defective Proximity Switch
(1) Clean the defective proximity switch with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the defective proximity switch.
1 If a new proximity switch is available:

Remove the defective proximity switch.
For the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-11-000-001).
For the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-13-000-002).
Install the new proximity switch.
For the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-11-400-001).
For the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-13-400-002).

2 If no proximity switch is available, replace the defective proximity switch by a proximity switch of the avionics compartment doors.

Do a check of the proximity switch you will remove. To do this, do a test of the door warning system of the related avionics compartment doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-710-001).
Remove the proximity switch of the avionics compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-14-000-001).
Install this proximity switch on the applicable passenger/crew door or emergency exit.
For the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-11-400-001).
For the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-13-400-002).

(b) If the fault continues:

Refer to the MMEL document for dispatch conditions.

(3) Close the applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 or 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Obey the special precautions after the work on the emergency exit (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Close the applicable emergency exit 833 or 843 or 834 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(7) Remove the access platform(s).
