4. Procedure
Subtask 52-51-00-820-059-A
A. Adjustment of the Cockpit Door - Clearance C around the Cockpit Door
   (1) If necessary, use the FLASHLIGHT to do the adjustment of clearance C.
   (2) Adjust lateral clearance C of the cockpit door (2) as follows:
     (a) Use the GAGE - SET, FEELER to measure clearance C between the cockpit door (2) and the lavatory wall (1) at the upper latch mechanism.
     (b) Make sure that clearance C is between 9.00 mm (0.3543 in.) and 10.00 mm (0.3937 in.).
     (c) If clearance C is not in the limits, adjust it as follows:
1 Loosen the adjustment screws (7) and (8) of the upper hinge (6).
NOTE: This will let the notch of the upper hinge body move to the groove of the upper hinge clamp-plate.
2 Move the cockpit door (2) until lateral clearance C is correct.
NOTE: The cockpit door (3) weighs approximately 35 kg (77.1618 lb).
       3 TORQUE the adjustment screw (7) of the upper hinge (6) to between 16.5 and 13.5 m.N (146.02 and 119.47 lbf.in ) T.
       4 TORQUE the adjustment screw (8) of the upper hinge (6) to between 22 and 18 m.N (16.22 and 13.27 lbf.ft )

C. Operational Test of the Cockpit Door and the Latch Mechanism
   (1) Do an operational test of the cockpit door (2) and the latch mechanism (
Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-710-002).
   (2) If the results of the test are unsatisfactory or you cannot adjust clearance C as in step 4.A:
     (a) Do the adjustment procedure of the cockpit door (2), the electrical release strikes and the latch mechanisms (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-820-001).
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-51-00-410-060-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Put the cover (5), the washer (4) and the screw (3) in position on the upper hinge (6).
   (2) Tighten the screw (3).
Subtask 52-51-00-860-131-A
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
