A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Adjustment of the Cockpit Door - Clearance L between the Safety Angle and Wall Panel (Pelmet)
(1) If necessary, use the FLASHLIGHT and/or the MIRROR - INSPECTION to do the adjustment of clearance L.
(2) Adjust clearance L between the safety angle (12) and the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
(a) Use the RULER - STEEL and measure clearance L between the edge of the safety angle (12) and the cockpit wall panel (1).
(b) Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
(c) If clearance L is not in the limits, adjust the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
1 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
2 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (10) and the washers (9) from the bracket (11).
4 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the lavatory sidewall (2) with the bracket (11), the washers (9) and the screws (10). Do not tighten the screws (10) at this time.
5 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (7) and the washers (6). If the shims (4) are installed, remove them.
a Do not discard the shims (4). Record the positions of the shims (4).
6 Apply a layer of Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) on the threads of the screws (7).
7 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the crown bracket (8) with the bracket (5) and the shims (4) in the order that they were removed.
9 Move the cockpit wall panel (1) inboard or outboard to adjust clearance L.
10 Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
11 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
12 Tighten the screws (10) and the screws (7).
Subtask 52-51-00-820-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If necessary, use the FLASHLIGHT and/or the MIRROR - INSPECTION to do the adjustment of clearance L.
(2) Adjust clearance L between the safety angle (12) and the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
(a) Use the RULER - STEEL and measure clearance L between the edge of the safety angle (12) and the cockpit wall panel (1).
(b) Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
(c) If clearance L is not in the limits, adjust the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
1 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
2 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (10) and the washers (9) from the bracket (11).
NOTE: The bracket (11) is installed on the lavatory sidewall (2).
3 Apply a layer of Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) on the threads of the screws (10).4 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the lavatory sidewall (2) with the bracket (11), the washers (9) and the screws (10). Do not tighten the screws (10) at this time.
5 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (7) and the washers (6). If the shims (4) are installed, remove them.
a Do not discard the shims (4). Record the positions of the shims (4).
6 Apply a layer of Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) on the threads of the screws (7).
7 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the crown bracket (8) with the bracket (5) and the shims (4) in the order that they were removed.
NOTE: The bracket (5) is part of the crown bracket (8).
8 Install the washers (6) and the screws (7). Do not tighten the screws (7) at this time.9 Move the cockpit wall panel (1) inboard or outboard to adjust clearance L.
10 Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
11 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
12 Tighten the screws (10) and the screws (7).
A. Adjustment of the Cockpit Door - Clearance L between the Safety Angle and Wall Panel (Pelmet)
(1) If necessary, use the FLASHLIGHT and/or the MIRROR - INSPECTION to do the adjustment of clearance L.
(2) Adjust clearance L between the safety angle (14) and the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
(a) Use the RULER - STEEL and measure clearance L between the edge of the safety angle (14) and the cockpit wall panel (1).
(b) Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
(c) If clearance L is not in the limits, adjust the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
1 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
2 Release the lockwashers (12) from the screws (13).
3 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (13), the lockwashers (12) and the plates (11) from the bracket (10).
5 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the lavatory sidewall (2) with the bracket (10), the plates (11), the new AIPC 53-14-81-01-080 WASHER (12) or the new AIPC 53-14-01-31-080 WASHER (12) and the screws (13). Do not tighten the screws (13) at this time.
6 Release the lockwashers (7) from the screws (8).
7 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (8), the lockwashers (7), the plate (6) and the shim (4).
a Do not discard the shims (4). Record the positions of the shims (4).
8 Discard the lockwashers (7).
9 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the crown bracket (9) with the bracket (5) and the shims (4) in the order that they were removed.
12 Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
13 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
14 TORQUE the screws (13) and the screws (8) to between 3.08 and 2.52 m.N (27.26 and 22.30 lbf.in )

15 Safety the screws (13) with the lockwashers (12).
16 Safety the screws (8) with the lockwashers (7).
Subtask 52-51-00-865-155-A (1) If necessary, use the FLASHLIGHT and/or the MIRROR - INSPECTION to do the adjustment of clearance L.
(2) Adjust clearance L between the safety angle (14) and the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
(a) Use the RULER - STEEL and measure clearance L between the edge of the safety angle (14) and the cockpit wall panel (1).
(b) Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
(c) If clearance L is not in the limits, adjust the cockpit wall panel (1) as follows:
1 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
2 Release the lockwashers (12) from the screws (13).
3 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (13), the lockwashers (12) and the plates (11) from the bracket (10).
NOTE: The bracket (10) is installed on the lavatory sidewall (2).
4 Discard the lockwashers (12).5 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the lavatory sidewall (2) with the bracket (10), the plates (11), the new AIPC 53-14-81-01-080 WASHER (12) or the new AIPC 53-14-01-31-080 WASHER (12) and the screws (13). Do not tighten the screws (13) at this time.
6 Release the lockwashers (7) from the screws (8).
7 Hold the cockpit wall panel (1) and remove the screws (8), the lockwashers (7), the plate (6) and the shim (4).
a Do not discard the shims (4). Record the positions of the shims (4).
8 Discard the lockwashers (7).
9 Attach the cockpit wall panel (1) to the crown bracket (9) with the bracket (5) and the shims (4) in the order that they were removed.
NOTE: The bracket (5) is part of crown bracket (9).
10 Install the plate (6), the new lockwashers (7) and the screws (8). Do not tighten the screws (8) at this time.NOTE: The plate (6) is part in the primer color. The plate (6) is installed on top of the bracket (5) and directly under the lockwashers (7).
11 Move the cockpit wall panel (1) inboard or outboard to adjust clearance L. 12 Make sure that clearance L is between 2 mm (0.0787 in.) and 9 mm (0.3543 in.).
13 Make sure that the cockpit wall panel (1) and the cockpit door (3) are parallel.
14 TORQUE the screws (13) and the screws (8) to between 3.08 and 2.52 m.N (27.26 and 22.30 lbf.in )
.15 Safety the screws (13) with the lockwashers (12).
16 Safety the screws (8) with the lockwashers (7).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Operational Test of the Cockpit Door and the Latch Mechanism
(1) Do an operational test of the cockpit door (3) and the latch mechanism (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-710-002).
(2) If the results of the test are unsatisfactory or you cannot adjust clearance L as in step 4.A:
Do the adjustment procedure of the cockpit door (3), the electrical release strikes and the latch mechanisms (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-820-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the cockpit door (3) and the latch mechanism (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-710-002).
(2) If the results of the test are unsatisfactory or you cannot adjust clearance L as in step 4.A:
Do the adjustment procedure of the cockpit door (3), the electrical release strikes and the latch mechanisms (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-820-001).

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
