4. Procedure

A. Operational Test of the Dead Bolt Assembly
   (1) Do the operational test of the dead bolt assembly from the cockpit side to make sure that it operates satisfactorily. For the location of this component, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 52-51-00-00).

RESULT
1.On center electrical release-strike 31MQ:
On center electrical release-strike 31MQ:
  • Move the lock bar up and hold it.
  • The spring of the lock bar is compressed.
  • The spring-loaded dead bolt becomes free and extends from the housing.
  • Release the lock bar.
  • The lock bar moves automatically down and its arm causes a mechanical blockage of the dead bolt.
  • Move the lock bar up and hold it.
  • The spring of the lock bar is compressed.
  • The arm of the lock bar moves up and the dead bolt can move freely.
  • Push the dead bolt in and hold it.
  • The dead bolt moves to the retracted position and stays in this position.
  • Release the lock bar.
  • The lock bar moves automatically down and engages in the pin of the dead bolt.
  • Release the lock bar.
  • The dead bolt is locked in the retracted position.

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
