4. Procedure
Subtask 52-51-00-780-051-A
A. Operational Test of the Remaining Pressure-Rate Sensor
   (1) Make sure that the cockpit door is closed and locked.
   (2) On the overhead panel, on Cockpit Door Locking Control Unit (CDLCU) 24MQ, make sure that the STRIKE LEDs (TOP, MID and BOT) are off.
   (3) Do the operational test to make sure that the remaining pressure sensor of CDLCU 24MQ operates correctly:
     (a) Simulate a decompression of the cabin pressure with the DECOMPRESSION TEST SIMULATOR.
NOTE: AIRBUS recommends that you use a manual vacuum pump (de-solder pump) or AR4728-1 (manufacturer ADAMS RITE AEROSPACE) or the equivalent standard.
   (4) On the overhead panel, on CDLCU 24MQ:
  • If LED CHAN 1 is on, do the test on the right pressure sensor hole.
  • If LED CHAN 2 is on, do the test on the left pressure sensor hole.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the overhead panel, on the CDLCU 24MQ section of panel 20VU:
On the cockpit door:
  • Put the vacuum pump/decompression simulator tool in the applicable pressure sensor hole and operate it.
  • You hear a clacking noise from the solenoids of the electrical release strikes, which operate automatically to unlock the cockpit door.
  • Remove the vacuum pump/decompression simulator tool from the pressure sensor hole.
  • As soon as there is an equal pressure between the cockpit and the cabin, the electrical release strikes operate automatically to lock the cockpit door.
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-51-00-860-098-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Put an applicable placard in position in the cockpit (refer to your standard practices and local regulations).
   (3) Make an entry in the logbook.
   (4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
