A. Deactivation of the Electrical Release Strike
(1) Turn the D-ring of the latch mechanism and open the cockpit door from the cockpit side.
(2) Manually move the catch of the defective electrical-release strike to make sure that it moves freely:
(a) If the plunger causes a blockage of the catch, remove the defective electrical release strike (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-12-000-001).
2 Remove the screws and the cover plate from lavatory wall housing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-12-000-001).
3 Disconnect the A/C wire harness from the applicable electrical-release strike cables ESPM 2048250 and AWM 525102.
4 Put the cover plate on the lavatory wall housing and install the screws (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-12-400-001).
5 Put the cover profile on the lavatory wall and install the screws (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-12-400-001).
(3) Make sure that the remaining electrical-release strikes operate satisfactorily (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-00-710-001).
(4) Put a warning notice on the door post to tell persons that the applicable electrical release strike is deactivated or removed.

(a) If the plunger causes a blockage of the catch, remove the defective electrical release strike (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-12-000-001).
NOTE: It is important to keep the splice junction connectors at the A/C wire harness. This is because of the isolation necessary to prevent a short circuit.
(b) If the catch moves freely, disconnect the A/C wire harness as follows:NOTE: It is important to keep the splice junction connectors at the A/C wire harness. This is because of the isolation necessary to prevent a short circuit.
NOTE: The A/C wires 4 and 7 of the center electrical release strike must stay connected. This is to keep the OPEN light of the indication light 22MQ.
