A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 172.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 172.
Subtask 52-42-11-420-050-C
A. Installation of Service Door 172AR
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the joints (9) and (10) are in the correct condition.
(4) If they are not, replace them as follows:
(a) Remove the joints (9) and (10).
(b) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the mating surface between service door 172AR (1) and the joints (9) and (10).
(c) Install the new AIPC 52-42-11-01-030 JOINT (9) and the new AIPC 52-42-11-01-040 JOINT (10).
(5) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent area with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
(6) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Interfay - (Material No.06ABC1) or Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) on the mating surface between the steel and the aluminum components. You can apply the sealant on the hinges of service door 172AR (1), the shims (2) and the springs (3).
(7) Put service door 172AR (1) in position on the fuselage cutout.
(8) Install the springs (3), the shims (2) and the screws (6).
(9) Tighten the screws (6).
(10) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the heads of the screws (6) and around the door fitting.
(11) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(12) Install the bonding leads (5), the washers (7), the bolts (8) and the nuts (4) on the hinges of service door 172AR (1).
(13) Tighten the nuts (4).
(14) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the joints (9) and (10) are in the correct condition.
(4) If they are not, replace them as follows:
(a) Remove the joints (9) and (10).
(b) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the mating surface between service door 172AR (1) and the joints (9) and (10).
(c) Install the new AIPC 52-42-11-01-030 JOINT (9) and the new AIPC 52-42-11-01-040 JOINT (10).
(5) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent area with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
(6) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Interfay - (Material No.06ABC1) or Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) on the mating surface between the steel and the aluminum components. You can apply the sealant on the hinges of service door 172AR (1), the shims (2) and the springs (3).
(7) Put service door 172AR (1) in position on the fuselage cutout.

(9) Tighten the screws (6).

(11) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)

(12) Install the bonding leads (5), the washers (7), the bolts (8) and the nuts (4) on the hinges of service door 172AR (1).
(13) Tighten the nuts (4).
(14) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

(2) Close service door 172AR.
