A. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 128.
(2) Remove the seal of the aft avionics-compartment door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-14-000-002).

4. Procedure

A. Repair of the Seal

Seal of the Avionics-Compartment Aft Door

(1) You must clean the repair areas at a minimum X of 25 mm (0.98 in.) on each side of the existing seam with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Prepare the surface of repair areas with a very fine abrasive cloth, specially the ends of the seals.
(3) Rub the repair area of the seal with an abrasive paper.
(4) Clean again the seal and specially the repair areas with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(5) Dry the cleaned seal with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Apply a thin coat of Contact Adhesive-Rubber & Plastic Bonding Neoprene base - (Material No.05JBC9) to the ends of the seals (on each side of the seam).
(7) Put the ends of the seal against each other.
(8) Hold the ends of the seal and let the adhesive cure.
(9) Put the seal in a position at room temperature in which the seam can cure. Let it cure for 24 hours.

NOTE: After 4 hours, the seal can be handled.

A. Close Access
(1) Install the seal of the aft avionics-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-14-400-002).
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
